Kevin Spacey was ousted from Hollywood after multiple allegations of sexual assault were made against him. That didn’t stop him from being able to find work elsewhere though. The former House of Cards star is going to be taking part in an Italian movie.
When one of his alleged victims found out that he was getting the green light to get back to work he was not happy! However, at least at this point in time, there is no legal restraint that would keep Spacey from getting a job!
Mark Ebenhoch, the man accusing Spacey of soliciting to have sexual intercourse with him on the set of the movie OutBreak, tells TMZ his thoughts when he first heard Spacey was being cast. The first thing that he blurted out was “what the hell?”
He also had a few words for the production of the Italian movie “L’uomo Che Disegno Dio”. He mentioned that the casting decision was an arrogant move and showed irresponsibility on the part of the casting directors. The Italians seem to think Spacey is innocent until proven guilty.
Italian movies usually have a hard time growing a worldwide audience. Other than Life is beautiful most people in non-Italian-speaking countries don’t watch their movies. Casting Spacey could be a PR move that brings a level of attention that the movie would not otherwise have had.
Add to that, the fact that Spacey is playing a cop who is investigating a man who is accused of abusing children and you’ve got a bomb on your hands. Director, Franco Nero is hoping the dark irony in the whole decision leads more people to see the movie!
Are there any type of legal restrictions that could prevent Spacey from filming this movie? The answer here is not as cut and dry. As Spacey is not currently in police custody he could technically head off to work. As any other person in a similar situation would.
However, if he has to travel to Italy to film that could be a problem. Since the ongoing legal producers could see a judge impose travel restrictions on Spacey. Not to mention the fact that getting paid could be a challenge as well. Since his bank accounts are at least closely monitored by authorities at this point!
Mark Ebenhoch also mentioned that he hopes that Spacey will own up to everything that he did in the past. Plus, issue a public apology to Ebenhoch and all of his other alleged victims.
At the same time, he does warn the cast and crew of the Italian film to be very careful with Spacey. We can assume that having an alleged sex offender in the workplace doesn’t make for ideal working conditions. The only real thing left to do for Mark Ebenhoch and other alleged victims is watch everything play out!
