Shirtless Elliot Page Is 'Pure Joy' On Instagram

It must not be easy being Elliot Page who just recently stepped out of the shadow of his former self, Ellen Page, the "Juno" actor. Elliot embraced his true self at age 34 and started using the pronouns "he/him" and "they/them" as he stepped out as a transgender man. 

And now, for the first time, he has gone ahead and embraced his physical changes as well, posting a shirtless picture of himself with a wide smile that says it all. 

Plus, the abs are on point too!

If you read Elliot Page's story in the March 2021 edition of Time, in which he became the first transgender man to grace its cover, the struggle for him has been ongoing since a very young age. 

Even as a child, Page preferred a shorter haircut and would often tell his mother that when he grew up, he wanted to be a boy. 

But then movies and the showbiz happened and Page soon was forced to adhere to a certain look, being cast as a girl in his very first on-screen appearance at age 10,  "Pit Pony."

Being cast as a young girl who gets pregnant in the indie film "Juno", suddenly put the spotlight on Page. Countless appearances in dresses, with makeup applied piled on the pressure. Later, his appearances in "X-Men" and "Inception" did not help his inner turmoil. Even though his career was soaring, Page was under massive mental stress, to the point of collapse.

His coming out as gay and eventual marriage to Emma Portner helped, but the pandemic lockdown really gave Page the time to think about what he wanted to do next. The marriage is over but they remain friends.

The dude is ripped. And the smile on Elliot Page's face is not because of his abs, its because he has finally started feeling comfortable in his skin, after having undergone top surgery to change him into his chosen gender. 

Page believes his surgery has been life-saving and life-affirming. He admitted more on his recent appearance with Oprah, saying that the joy for him lay in the little things. 

"It's, you know, getting out of the shower and the towel is around your waist, and you're looking at yourself in the mirror and you're just like 'There I am.'"

Elliot's picture went with a sweet and simple caption that read, "Trans bb’s first swim trunks" and it has earned Page 2.7 million likes already. 

The man has quickly become an icon and stands for every transgendered individual out there as a beacon of hope. 

And while many appreciated both his gesture and the "eight pack abs", Nina Dobrev said it right. 

She first put the comment, "You look amazing" and then followed it up with a "And most of all happy ♥️".
