Last summer, Kanye West made an epic move in inking a 10-year YEEZY collaboration deal with Gap. West had been planning to work with the clothing brand for a while and fans anxiously wanted to see the type of apparel that both sides would end up creating.

“We are excited to welcome Kanye back to the Gap family as a creative visionary, building on the aesthetic and success of his YEEZY brand and together defining a next-level retail partnership,” said Mark Breitbard, Global Head of Gap Brand.

According to a report by Business Of Fashion, West and Gap’s collaboration is expected to arrive by the end of next month. Gap’s representatives said that as of now, that is timeline is “on track.” Gap hopes the launch will make up for the company’s loss of revenue in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this collaboration, the GAP logo has a new design where it says “YZY.” This was also noted in West’s announcement for his “#WestDayEver” campaign, in celebration of the Gap collab.

This collaboration with West is definitely good news for Gap in terms of bouncing back for revenue lost in 2020. Last August, it was revealed that they had to close 225 stores by the end of 2020. However, this year it is believed that Gap will see a $150 million increase in sales after the release of this collab with West, according to Bloomberg. Gap will also hold a Q1 earnings call on May 27 and detail the plans for YEEZY.

With the anticipated Gap collab coming up this summer, West is busy with other clothing endeavors as well. His Yeezy sneakers and slides continue to be very popular worldwide, with every release. Every time a new pair is launched, fans scramble to purchase them. For many, they often miss out as these items sell out in minutes. West has also been making headlines this year as he is currently in the process of his divorce with Kim Kardashian. This was revealed at the top of the year, but paperwork wasn’t officially filed until mid-February. Things appeared to come crashing down in their marriage last summer when West held his first 2020 presidential rally in South Carolina. There, he mentioned how he and Kardashian discussed getting an abortion in 2012. That month, the two also had a heated argument near West’s Wyoming ranch.
