Courtney Bass Cox is a well-decorated and popular American actress and producer. She came into the movie industry in the early 90s when she starred in the popular NBC sitcom, “Friends.” 

Although many attribute her role in this sitcom as the beginning of her popularity, Cox was already a star ten years before she landed this gig.

Cox had an incredible career after starring as Monica Geller on the “Friends” show, but what some fans may not know, is that she was already popular before this role. 

In 1984, the director was featured in “Dancing in the Dark” music video by Bruce Springsteen. Unknown to her, this appearance would later become a groundbreaking career moment for her.

Cox once disclosed that she was skeptical about featuring in the video, but did anyway. Nevertheless, it contributed to her thriving movie career, as she landed several important roles after it.

Monica Geller appeared on the American television sitcom from 1994 to 2004. She was a popular chef on the show who always had a knack for cleaning. 

She lived with her best friend, Rachel Green for several years, and the show took viewers through their lives and romantic relationships.

Although Gellar had a strong and sometimes obsessive personality, fans loved and adored this character.

Initially, the show’s creator wanted comedian Janeane Garofalo to play this role, while Cox was to play the character Rachel Green, but she rejected it. Instead, she was attracted to Gellar’s character because of her “strong personality.”

The 56-year-old actress was on the show from the beginning till it end in 2004, with 236 episodes in total.

Most times, when a series goes on for a long time and finally ends, actors may find it difficult to land other roles in the movie industry. 

This has nothing to do with their talent, but everything to do with the fact that they may have been type-casted. Either way, some of these stars find soothing roles and work with it.

However, in Cox’s case, her career after “Friends” thrived.

In November 2019, The Hollywood Reporterrevealed that Warner Bros. was in the process of planning a reunion show for the cast of “Friends” which will be called “The One Where They Get Back Together.” 

Ever since, fans have been anticipating this reunion and now, the long wait is finally over. According to reports, the reunion episode will start streaming on HBO Max on May 27.
