We are coming up on the May 27th date that is set to be the release of the HBO special Friends Reunion Show. Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe on the show, has been making the rounds on Late Night shows and other appearances talking about what fans can expect to see.
While many fans were disappointed to hear that the cast will not be reprising their roles from the show, the special could contain memorable moments that fans will cherish!
The Friends opening credits scene is one of the most iconic in TV history. Fans of the show are actually able to visit the fountain as it's part of the studio tour at Warner Brothers Studios. Lisa was directly asked by Conan O'brien recently if they were going to recreate the opening credits scene.
Lisa responded to the question with an overly enthusiastic "no"! This threw Conan a bit off, and certainly has fans speculating whether or not we'll get a recreation of the opening credits scene in the special!

While new footage of the show's main cast reprising their characters is proving hard to come by, we will be getting old footage. One of the things that Kudrow has "confirmed" is that the show will include never-before-seen footage from the original series.
Most of this footage will come from a home video that someone from the studio shot while they were filming the show. Therefore, what we will be getting is plenty of behind-the-scenes action from the iconic series!

When it was announced that the reunion was happening one of the biggest talking points was the special guests to appear on the show. In a recent interview, Kudrow also talked about some of the surprises that the cast themselves got from the special guests on the show.
She mentioned, "I was like, ‘Wait, that’s Justin Bieber. Right? Would he be here? Is he here? He’s really here; that’s Justin Bieber!”
It's still unclear how these special guests are going to play into the dynamic of the show!

Kudrow also reminisced on what it was like to be one of the biggest celebrities of the '90s and early 2000s. For her, the show's peak years could not have come at a better time. As dealing with mega fame in the social media era doesn't sound like much fun.
She mentioned on the matter, "I think we’re always glad about the way things happened when they did. Because if it were now, it would be overwhelming with social media and everything else. But even in the ‘90s, you had to make an effort like ‘Don’t look yourself up on the internet! You won’t like it.’”
