Nicki Minaj Thanks Fans For Success Of 'Beam Me Up Scotty' Mixtape

Over a week ago, Nicki Minaj re-released her 2009 "Beam Me Up Scotty" mixtape, which was the project that helped put her on the map that year. This project was finally made available on streaming outlets as it included several new records such as "Seeing Green" featuring Drake and Lil Wayne along with the highly anticipated "Fractions" single. Fans loved what they heard from the new tracks by Nicki and also indulged into the nostalgia of the Beam Me Up Scotty mixtape overall.

Nicki ended up doing very well in regards to first week numbers for "Beam Me Up Scotty." According to Chart Data, this project sold 80,000 units in its first week and is number two on the Billboard 200 chart. 11,000 were in pure sales and it accumulated 85.57 million on-demand streams. Beam Me Up Scotty contained 23 tracks in total with appearances from Gucci Mane, G Herbo, and even Drake again on the "Best I Ever Had" remix, which was also one of the biggest records back in 2009.

Following news of "Beam Me Up Scotty''s" success on the Billboard 200, Nicki took to her Twitter feed to thank her fans. She also reminisced on her releasing this project at the time in 2009.

"80K wow. My 12 year ago self would be so proud. No videos, lyric videos, no tik tok challenges, no radio & no heavy playlisting due to it coming as a surprise. Didn’t even drop w|clean versions to the songs. Long live #BeamMeUpScotty I love you guys so much. Thank you so much."

With the massive success of "Beam Me Up Scotty," fans also hope that Nicki releases a new album this year as well. It's been quite a while since this happened as the last time she put one out was back in August 2018. This was "Queen" as it debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. It was led by hit singles such as "Barbie Dreams" and "Chun-Li." Since 2019, the demand has been sky-high for a new album from Nicki.

In addition to new music being released along with throwback records, Nicki has been trending on social media for her fashion looks. Nicki returned to social media after a two-month hiatus on May 10 and posted multiple photos of her wearing pink Crocs. This soon increased demand for Crocs in this color as sales increased for the brand by 4,900%. Last week, Nicki also sported a pair of black Crocs with a Chanel logo customized on it. At this point, many wonder if a Crocs endorsement deal is on the way or is actually being finalized.
