Kendall Jenner is delivering bottles of her 818 tequila door-to-door amid immense backlash over her new brand. The 25-year-old supermodel made headlines earlier this week for the official launch of her alcoholic beverages, ones now retailing in California and priced at around $59.99 per bottle. On Friday, the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star dropped fresh Instagram promo for the brand she’s named after her home zip code of Calabasas, with photos showing Kendall joking about the “deliveries” she’d just made. Check it out below.
Scroll for the photos. Kendall, slammed in February for both cultural appropriation and with suggestions she has no clue about tequila, had kept comments disabled for the official launch, one coming complete with ranch photos as the E! star trotted around on horseback while being filmed in Jalisco, Mexico and on an agave farm.
Today’s photos showed Kendall back in L.A., where she’s been roaming Ralph’s grocery stores and proudly showing off her product. Keeping COVID-safe in a black face mask, Kendall then made a few “deliveries.”
The catwalk queen, up until now the only member of her famous sisters without a fully-fledged brand, held out a bottle of her 818 TEQUILA BLANCO while in a quilted blue jacket bearing the brand logo, also sporting casual jeans. Jenner was also photographed by an 818 delivery truck, with one shot showing a woman opening her front door and, it would seem, pleasantly surprised by the personal delivery.
“Stopped by some stores, made some deliveries,” Kendall humorously wrote. This time, comments were on. More photos below.
On the brand’s official launch date, and accompanying promo photos, Kendall told fans: “What an incredible experience i have had thus far, learning about this beautiful place, it’s beautiful culture, and the beautiful people!
@drink818 has launched in California… we will be rolling out to the rest of the US all summer long, keep a look out!!!”
Cultural appropriation backlash had also manifested as Kendall rocked native American-style pigtails and a cowboy hat in her release promo. See more photos after the video.
The tequila is described as “hand-crafted” in Jalisco, Mexico. In February, Kendall proudly announced what was then her upcoming brand, writing:
“[For] almost 4 years i’ve been on a journey to create the best tasting tequila. after dozens of blind taste tests, trips to our distillery, entering into world tasting competitions anonymously and WINNING (?) ..3.5 years later i think we’ve done it!”
Since then, Kendall has been unveiled as the new face of activewear brand Alo Yoga. Scroll for her paint-splattered sports bra photo, one that got the ball rolling.
