NBA 2K26 Summer League is about to kick off nearly two weeks of daily basketball games at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion. To get the hoops party started, the PlayStation Creator Cup will have elite basketball talent and top gaming creators on the court for a fun fusion of sports and entertainment on Wednesday, July 9 at 7 p.m. PT.

Against the dazzling backdrop of Sin City, this year's Summer League, which runs from July 10-20, promises thrilling matchups highlighting rookies and league sophomores, immersive fan experiences, and the ultimate celebration of basketball during the league's offseason.

The PlayStation NBA Creator Cup is kicking off another exciting NBA Summer League on Wednesday, July 9 at 7 p.m. The basketball showdown features top basketball creators and personalities, including SypherPK, Carson Roney, Bree Green, Cam Wilder, YPK Raye, Chris Staples, D'Aydrian Harding, and more.

This year's roster features a diverse mix of talent, from Harlem Globetrotters to social media stars.

"Participating in the PlayStation NBA Creator Cup in Las Vegas is always a highlight of my summer,” said creator, YPK Raye. “Bringing this energy to my hometown makes it even more meaningful plus it’s a family-friendly event and a unique way for fans to connect with the creators they watch every day.”

Chris Staples Shares Insight Into The NBA Creator Cup Game

Chris Staples, a rising star in the basketball world, professional dunker, and content creator, has been involved in the Creator Cup since its inception. He told The Blast exclusively that fans "should expect a fun, exciting, competitive game."

"You know, we're content creators, but at the same time, you know, we do have a competitive edge. You're going to see a great scale from people that you see online and you're going to see it live," he said. "I've been a part of this every year, this is the third year. When this challenge came up, they reached out to me, and I'm just very fortunate to be a part of it."

When asked what being part of the NBA Creator Cup means to him, Staples simply explained, "everything."

"This is a very unique situation. You don't really hear about things of this magnitude, especially connected with the NBA Summer League," he shared. "It's just, it all ties in together, and being out here in Las Vegas just shows how entertaining it really can be."

He added, "I'm just very, fortunate that you know we're in this space as creators and I hope that we can continue to just push the envelope and make this uh even bigger than what it is."

Excited To See Some Summer League Action And Advice For The Next Generation Of Hoopers

Not only is Staples excited for the Creator Cup game, he's also excited to catch some of the Summer League action.

"So far, we have Cooper Flagg, the number one draft pick, so I'm excited to see him debut in Summer League. I'm a big fan of Bronny James and seeing him thrive," Staples told The Blast. "But as far as all the rookies, it's good to see people finally getting their NBA debut to showcase their talents in front of everyone."

Staples also shared some advice for the next generation of hoopers and creators who dream of making basketball a big part of their career.

"Just continue to be consistent. I think that's what led most people that are on this platform today, is their level of consistency to show how much they actually appreciate being in this space," he said. "And I think to learn from people that are already doing it, take some of their strategies and techniques and that way when your time comes, you're prepped and enjoy the journey. Don't rush it. Be ready for the moment and work hard."

Basketball fans unite in the desert for an exciting time during the NBA's offseason. The nearly two-week-long event is a must-see for any true basketball fan.

Celebrating its 21st year in Las Vegas, NBA 2K26 Summer League brings all 30 NBA teams together for nonstop excitement on the court.

Each day of Summer League features six to eight games where rookies and sophomore players in the league showcase a peek of their talents before the 2025-26 season kicks off.

Each team will play at least four games during the 11 days of Summer League. After each team's first four games, the top four teams will continue to the playoffs. The two winning teams from the semifinals will compete in the final championship game on Sunday, July 20.

It's not too late to get tickets to experience Summer League in Las Vegas.

In addition to all the high-energy games, there will be activations and other fun to experience. From July 17-19, the 2025 Summer League Film Festival will take place with daily screenings at the Strip View Pavilion inside Thomas & Mack Center.
