Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is a world-renowned singer-songwriter, popularly known by her stage name, Lady Gaga.
Gaga began her career as a performer in her early teenage years. Decades later, she became an inspiration for pop, dance and electronic music style.
She has also dabbled in movies. In 2018, she landed a supporting role as Ally alongside Bradley Cooper in “A Star Is Born.”
Like many famous people who have been through hardships, Gaga recently disclosed during an interview that she had a sexual assault encounter that eventually led to pregnancy.
Gaga Gets Candid About Her Sexual Assault

During the premiere of Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey’s Apple TV+ series called “The Me You Can’t See, ” Gaga explained in detail how a non-consensual sexual experience landed her in the hospital.
The 35-year-old began by saying that at age 19, she was working with a producer who asked her to take off her clothes. She refused.
Later, she was threatened and told that all her music would be burned.
“… And they didn’t stop. They didn’t stop asking me and I just froze, and I- I don’t remember, ” the singer said amid tears.
The Aftermath

Gaga went on to say that she decided not to name the perpetrator because she could not stand facing him one more time. She recounted that years later she was taken to the hospital for severe pains that brought back painful memories.
The pains were consistent with the time she was dropped off at a hospital, after being locked in and abused in a studio for months. At that time, the doctors found out that she was pregnant from the repeated assault.
Gaga Went Into A Psychotic Break

Gaga revealed in the unscripted series that after she was taken to the hospital, they called in a psychiatrist to check in on her.
She eventually went into a psychotic break because her body and mind could not stop reminding her of the painful experience she faced in the past.
Finally, Gaga explained how she learned to deal with her impulses to self-harm. She noted that people often think that when they hurt themselves, they’ll feel better, but believes that it only gets worse.
In a concluding statement, the “Bad Romance” singer said, “I learned all the way to pull myself out of it. It all started to slowly change.”
