The state of Califonia is about to re-open allowing vaccinated people to finally roam freely without masks, just in time for the music industry's new arrival on the pop scene -- 13-year old Alexander James Rodriquez. The teenager has just released a state anthem that Governor Newsom would be proud to play before any public address!
Alexander, who is being compared to a young George Michael, has released the song and music video to celebrate the end of COVID restrictions for all Californians just in time for our state's beautiful summer!
'California's' lyrics reflect California's modern party spirit and fun outdoor lifestyle and it's no surprise some are hoping the teenager can knock out the current state song, 'I Love You, California which was adopted in 1951.

“When I wrote the lyrics for ‘California’ I wanted to highlight all my favorite things to do in Los Angeles, and the State of California. From Venice Beach to San Francisco, and everything in between. I want this song to be a celebration of all things Cali. And who knows, maybe Governor Newsom and Mayor Garcetti will love it too!” the young artist said.
The good news, the music video from the jam hits all the tourist hotspots, including Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier, Beverly Hills, Hollywood Boulevard, the Hollywood Sign, Golden Gate Bridge and even Lake Tahoe. The British teen has practically done the job for Visit California and Discover LA in one clean swoop.
So What Are They Waiting For?!
As we reported, Rodriquez burst onto the L.A. scene with the release of his song and music video, 'Doesn't Matter To Me.'
In pure Brit-Pop style, Rodriguez caused mass hysteria outside of Craig's in West Hollywood, where the paparazzi spotted him and his mother out to dinner.
The 13-year-old star recently won the ‘Rising Star Award’ Hollywood Music in Media Award alongside music royalty John Legend, Justin Timberlake, and Kenny Loggins.
At the time, he told The Blast, “This song definitely has a more mature vibe to that of My Crew, Your Smile and Up To You, which I released last year. 'Doesn’t Matter To Me' is about forbidden love, between either cultures or upbringing and how it doesn’t matter what people say, love will find a way."
