Lisa Vanderpump's highly anticipated hotel project in Las Vegas got off to a fiery start, literally, after a blaze broke out Friday morning at The Cromwell, the boutique hotel currently being transformed into The Vanderpump Hotel.
According to Senior Director of Public Relations Kala B. Peterson, the fire ignited inside the parking garage of The Cromwell but was “quickly extinguished” by the Clark County Fire Department.
No injuries were reported, though several guest rooms of Lisa Vanderpump's hotel were briefly evacuated as a precaution.

"At this time, all operations have returned to normal," Peterson assured, per Daily Mail. "We would like to thank the Clark County Fire Department for its swift response."
While the cause of the fire remains unclear, video footage captured by X user @iSeeCyrus showed smoke billowing from the front of the hotel and emergency crews on the scene. The user cheekily captioned the video: “#Cromwell is on fire! I guess Vanderpump wanted to start the renovations early… #Vegas #LasVegas.”
The incident comes just months after Lisa Vanderpump announced her plans to turn The Cromwell into The Vanderpump Hotel, marking her first foray into the hotel business.
Lisa Vanderpump Expands Empire With First-Ever Hotel

The Bravo star and restaurateur has long been associated with upscale hospitality through her popular bars and restaurants in both Las Vegas and Los Angeles, many of which have been featured on her hit reality show "Vanderpump Rules."
"I am thrilled to once again be partnering with Caesars Entertainment, this time to venture into the hotel business," Vanderpump said earlier this year. "What an extraordinary opportunity to develop this iconic location into something unique, playful, and upscale.”
Plans include a full redesign of the hotel’s 188 guest rooms and suites, a revamped reception area, and a newly constructed lounge. Vanderpump also plans to hand-select amenities for guests, promising “sexy elegance and comfort” with signature furnishings and custom lighting fixtures.
While The Cromwell will remain operational during renovations, the temporary fire scare gave the hotel’s upcoming transformation an unexpected jolt.
Fire Scare Comes Just Days After Vanderpump Announces New Scottsdale Restaurant

The fire at Vanderpump’s future Las Vegas hotel comes on the heels of another major announcement from the reality TV mogul.
Just days before the Cromwell incident, Vanderpump announced plans to open a second location of her upscale restaurant concept, Wolf by Vanderpump, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The fine dining restaurant will span 6,500 square feet and sit atop the seventh floor of the Hilton hotel at Caesars Republic Scottsdale, offering sweeping views of Camelback Mountain.
Lisa Vanderpump Expands Wolf Restaurant Brand With Desert-Inspired Scottsdale Location

Drawing inspiration from the desert landscape, the space will feature dramatic wolf-themed décor and a design distinct from the brand’s Lake Tahoe counterpart, which opened in April 2024.
“We are thrilled to be expanding the Wolf by Vanderpump brand and opening its second location in Scottsdale,” Vanderpump said in a statement. “Wolf is unique, bold, filled with epic visual statements, and it will be the perfect addition to the stunning Caesars Republic Arizona hotel.”
Construction is slated to begin this July, with the grand opening expected by the end of the year. The project is a collaboration with real estate and hospitality firm HCW.
“This location will feel different to the Tahoe location,” Vanderpump added, “drawing inspiration from the desert and surrounding areas, which will be infused into the design, the food and the cocktails.”
Vanderpump Expands Vegas Empire As ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Prepares For Fresh Cast Overhaul

The Vanderpump Hotel will join Vanderpump’s ever-growing Las Vegas empire, which already includes hotspots like Vanderpump à Paris and Vanderpump Cocktail Garden.
Meanwhile, over on the Bravo front, "Vanderpump Rules" is preparing for a major shakeup in its 12th season, which will feature an entirely new cast, except for Lisa herself, who remains the face of the franchise.
“There are a few people that have worked there for years that obviously come with their own problems and then there’s some new people kind of joining in,” Vanderpump teased.
However, she wouldn’t say if the new group is “better” than the veterans but did confirm “they’re different."
