OutKast rapper Big Boi is grappling with a devastating family tragedy after his uncle, Remoin Patton, was fatally shot in a road rage incident in Atlanta, Georgia.
Patton, 62, was found dead on June 16, shortly after 5:30 p.m. on the 200 block of Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard NW, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
This tragic event has deeply affected the OutKast rapper and his family, shining a stark light on the dangerous consequences of road rage incidents.

The police report revealed that Patton had been behind the wheel when a verbal altercation broke out between him and another driver.
During the confrontation, Patton was shot, causing him to crash his vehicle into a vacant residence. Officers arrived to find Patton with a gunshot wound to the back, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
“I’m like, ‘What the heck happened to my place that I’m staying now?’” Chris Walker, who was housesitting at the property where Patton’s car had crashed, said. "I never thought it would be this property."
Footage from WSBTV shows Patton's car had hit a support post on the house’s covered porch, causing it to crash through part of the front wall, which was later covered by a tarp.
Two Arrested In Connection With Big Boi’s Uncle’s Fatal Shooting

Following the incident, the Atlanta Police Department launched an investigation and announced on Friday that two individuals had been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Jabyrion Crumbley, 18, turned himself in to authorities on July 2, accompanied by his attorney. He faces charges of murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Crumbley remains in jail without bail.
A second individual, 32-year-old Janisha Crumbley, was arrested earlier on June 20, during a traffic stop. She was charged with hindering the apprehension of a felon, and after being booked on June 21, was released on a $30,000 bond.

In the wake of his uncle’s tragic death, Big Boi, whose real name is Antwan André Patton, shared his grief publicly.
“Everybody who knows Uncle Moonie heart aches,” Big Boi said in a statement to WSBTV. “He wasn’t just ‘My’ Uncle, he was Unk to all that met him. A moment of rage has totally pierced the heart of my family forever. May Uncle Moonie’s soul rest in peace.”
The rapper also honored his uncle on Instagram, posting heartfelt tributes along with photos and videos of Patton. “Long Live Uncle Moonie … Miss ya UNC. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord,” Big Boi wrote in the caption.
