Garcelle Beauvais looked back at her decision to join the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" during an interview with "KTLA Morning News" on May 18, just one day before the highly anticipated premiere of season 11.

After one of the hosts of the Los Angeles-based morning show questioned the 54-year-old actress about why she joined the Bravo reality series and noted that she was "better" than the show, Beauvais explained what she was thinking going into the project in 2019.

"At the time that the show came to me, I really wanted to be home with my kids. I was traveling a lot. I was away a lot. And I thought, This is a way I get to be home and work. So I’m having fun," Beauvais shared.

That said, when it comes to her future with the show, Beauvais seems unsure about how long she will remain on the drama-filled series. 

"I wouldn’t say this is a lifetime thing for me but I’m having fun now," she noted.

Although Beauvais is happy with her position on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," she admitted to going through hard moments on the show. 

"There are days that I would leave a 'Housewives' scene and cry in the car. But we do have a lot of fun too and this season is going to be really one to watch, not just because of the Erika scenario, but there is a lot of fun also, which is what the show needed. I felt like last year, we lost a lot of the fun because it was all about Denise and whether she did or did not sleep with someone,” she said.

While appearing on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" has come with its challenges," Beauvais said that she couldn't be happier with her talk show gig on "The Real."

"'The Real' is fantastic. It’s my dream job. I love the women. I love that it’s women of color on this talk show. You have different options, even though we’re all women of color. It’s really been fantastic and we did 170 shows from home. When I’m with the women of The Real, we can have fun, I can let my guard down," she explained.

"I would shoot 'The Real,' two shows a day, sometimes three, and then run off and go do Housewives. And then I’d have to remember, in the car, on the way to the 'Housewives,' [I’d have to remember], ‘Bring back your guard. Bring your guard back up. Get ready,’” she recalled.
