Cassie Ventura is speaking out against Diddy's attempt to be released from federal custody as he awaits sentencing, urging the judge to deny his request for immediate release.

In a letter submitted to the court by her legal team, Cassie's attorneys argue that the hip-hop mogul poses a potential danger to victims who testified against him, including Cassie herself, as well as to the general public.

The letter makes a compelling case that Diddy's release could further endanger the very people who bravely came forward during the trial.

In a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, Douglas Wigdor expressed Ventura's concern that her ex-boyfriend may pose a threat to her or others.

"Ms. Ventura believes that Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community," the letter, obtained by PEOPLE, read.

This news comes just hours after Doug Wigdor, the attorney representing Cassie, told NBC reporters outside the courthouse that his team is pleased that he has "finally been held accountable."

"Of course, we would have liked to have seen a conviction on the sex crimes and RICO, but we understand that 'beyond a reasonable doubt' is a high standard," he said. "We're just pleased he still faces substantial jail time."

Her team then released a complete statement to Us Weekly:

“This entire criminal process started when our client Cassie Ventura had the courage to file her civil complaint in November 2023. Although the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution.

By coming forward with her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice. We must repeat, with no reservation, that we believe and support our client who showed exemplary courage throughout this trial. She displayed unquestionable strength and brought attention to the realities of powerful men in our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussion.”

Cassie's legal team also noted that this case "proved that change is long overdue" and they "will continue to fight on behalf of survivors."

Diddy Faces Up To 63 Months In Prison Despite Acquittal On Major Charges

The pushback comes after Diddy was acquitted on three of the five significant charges against him, including RICO and sex trafficking allegations.

Despite this, the rapper and music mogul was found guilty of violating the Mann Act, which criminalizes the transportation of individuals across state lines for illicit activities. The conviction stems from Diddy's involvement in transporting Cassie and another woman, referred to in court documents as "Jane," for illegal purposes.

Following the guilty verdict, Diddy's legal team requested his release on a $1 million bond, proposing that he be confined to his Miami home until sentencing. However, despite his partial acquittal, Diddy is still facing serious consequences.

Federal prosecutors have indicated that he could face "at least 51 to 63 months" behind bars for the two prostitution transportation convictions.

A Potential Release And Chaos Outside The Courtroom

Legal experts suggest that rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs could be released from federal custody as early as today, following his conviction on charges related to the Mann Act, which involves the transportation of individuals for non-forcible prostitution.

CNN's senior legal analyst, Elie Honig, stated that it wouldn't be surprising for Diddy to walk free, given he has already spent nearly a year behind bars and was acquitted of the most serious charges, including RICO and sex trafficking.

Honig emphasized that if Diddy were an unknown individual without the fame and notoriety that comes with being one of hip-hop's most influential figures, his release would be almost guaranteed, considering his time already served.

"If this was just some run of the mill, unknown New Yorker who had only been convicted of what we call the Mann Act, of non-forcible interstate prostitution, he would walk today," Honig noted.

A likely outcome, he added, is that Diddy could receive a "time served" sentence.

Meanwhile, outside the courthouse, chaos erupted as spectators spray-painted baby oil into the crowd, referencing a bizarre detail from Diddy's trial.

Prosecutors had detailed how Diddy allegedly used baby oil during the infamous "Freak Off" sex events, where drug-fueled sexual activities were said to have taken place with various women, including Cassie Ventura.

The spectacle outside only added to the ongoing tension surrounding Diddy's legal battles as the final verdict nears.
