YFN Luccihas been one of the most popular rappers out of Atlanta since 2014, but he has been running into some serious legal woes since the top of 2021. It all started in mid-January when he was hit with charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. This was related to the murder of 28-year-old James Adams in south Atlanta back in early December.

Lucci was released on $500,000 bond in February but it came with very strict conditions. These included wearing an ankle monitor, living in an "undisclosed location," and being there from 7PM-7AM. Lucci could only leave in his free hours to handle legal business, medical appointments, as well as see his children. He also couldn't contact alleged victims, witnesses or co-defendants. Prosecutors then claimed on his first day out, he violated these by visiting a recording studio and a strip club which was the scene of a shooting.

Earlier this month, Lucci was hit with even more trouble as he was listed in a 75-page, 105-count indictment for gang-related racketeering charges. This involved activities surrounding Blood gang members.
“There’s been a huge spike in violent crime,” said Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to, as reported by HipHopDX. “I made a commitment to bring the best and the brightest minds here, many of which you see sitting here right now so that we could deal with this issue of this violent crime.”

According to WSB-TV 2, Lucci surrendered to police on Monday as he is being held at the Fulton County Jail in a maximum-security area. Lucci's attorney, Drew Findling, maintained before this latest development that the rapper isn't a gang member at all.
"He’s not a gang member. What he is is an internationally recognized musical artist that is a triple platinum winner, that has performed all over the United States and all over the world," said Findling in a statement at the time.

Back in December, Lucci also released his highly anticipated "Wish Me Well 3" album. This project was in the making since 2018 and contained 21 tracks in total with appearances from Boosie Badazz,Jeezy, Rick Ross, and more. This was Lucci's third project of 2020, following his "HIStory" deluxe edition as well as the "Corona Pack" EP. Now, it appears that this consistency may slow down with his current incarceration.
