It seems Diddy has won the battle, but the war is still on as his verdict is in.
The rapper’s federal criminal trial in New York City has now concluded. The jury, comprising four women and eight men, found him guilty on only a two-count charge out of the five-count charges brought against him.
Diddy and his legal defense team have sat through several testimonies and heard from numerous witnesses for over six weeks, alongside a team of jurors and prosecutors, to determine his current fate.
Diddy's Prosecutors Seeking Incarceration

The father-of-six’s fate was determined by a mixed verdict from the jury, who found him guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Diddy was, however, acquitted of two serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
Following the verdict, Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey stated that the government is not in favor of the motion. According to Comey, the trial contained evidence of prolonged abuse and drug usage, which went uncontested by Diddy’s team.
Comey noted that despite the rapper’s knowledge that he was under scrutiny by law enforcement, he continued his crimes nonetheless. She stated that the potential for Diddy to continue leading a life of crime is on the high side should he be released.
CNN reports that Comey shared that the government plans to pursue up to 20 years in prison for the two counts for which he is found guilty.
The Rapper's Attorney Assured The Judge Of His Best Behavior If Released

Contrary to what the government wants, Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, is convinced his client should walk away a free man tonight.
The attorney noted that his client is beyond relieved to get his life back after initially thinking he would spend the rest of his years behind bars.
He then promised that should his client be allowed to come home immediately, he would abide by the conditions set by the court. As it stands, Diddy has been restricted from accessing his plane or leaving the country.
"He treasures, I assure you, the opportunity that he has been given, and he will not run afoul of anything this court imposes on him," Agnifilo said.
The attorney added that if the court needed more assurance from Diddy, they could get a bond from his kids. In his words: “Any three of them, any five of them can sign onto a bond.”
Cassie Ventura's Attorney Lauds Her For 'Paving Way' For Diddy's Conviction

The "Me & You" singer's lawyer reacted to news of Diddy's conviction earlier today. Doug Wigdor emphasized that the verdict resulted from his client's decision to disclose her traumatic experience with the rapper.
According to US Magazine, Wigdor added that by coming forward with her story, "Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice."
He noted that it would have been more satisfying to see the rapper go down for his sex trafficking and racketeering charges. However, it is still impressive that Cassie's testimony now makes Diddy a convicted felon of two crimes.
The lawyer and his client remain grateful that the record label owner was held accountable for at least two of his crimes.
The Jury Initially Failed To Arrive At A Unanimous Decision On Diddy’s Racketeering Charge

Perhaps the rapper had this acquittal coming all along. Yesterday, The Blast shared that the jury had prepared a verdict for five out of his six counts, except for the most severe- racketeering conspiracy.
In a note sent by the court to Presiding Judge Arun Subramanian, the jury explained that they had not reached a joint verdict for that specific count.
They faced two options: send the jury for more discussions on a final verdict or proceed with a partial verdict to convict Diddy for racketeering.
As the jury settled to determine Diddy’s fate, his defense attorney reminded the court that the charges against him lacked convincing evidence.
Well, the rapper seemingly scaled through not only his racketeering charge, buthe also did not get nailed for the sex trafficking charge.
Diddy's Federal Criminal Trial Experienced A Jury Delay

A key witness during the rapper's case was forced to delay their testimony due to a juror's health emergency. Subramanian informed the court that a juror began experiencing dizzy spells on their way to court, which prompted their quick exit from the premises.
The news came as the prosecution prepared to summon an important witness, Brendan Paul, Diddy's former assistant, who was granted immunity to testify against the rapper. Due to the juror's medical emergency, the testimony was unavoidably rescheduled, causing a setback in the trial's progress.
Before the juror's health scare, a defiant juror was let go from the lineup due to errors in the personal information provided while signing up to become a jurymember in the case.
What fate awaits Diddy now?
