Katy Perry is dealing with a lot both personally and now legally.
Just as news of her split from Orlando Bloom starts making headlines, the pop star is also facing a familiar threat: another unwanted visitor at her home. Perry is once again asking the court for protection from a homeless man she claims has repeatedly shown up at her property without warning.
Katy Perry, who got engaged to Orlando Bloom in 2019 after their whirlwind romance began in 2016, is now navigating life post-breakup, but peace is not coming easily.
Katy Perry Seeks Court Protection As Alleged Stalker Keeps Coming Back

Perry filed for a temporary restraining order on June 18, naming 43-year-old Ross Elliott Hedrick as the man she is trying to keep away. She also included Bloom in the request, describing him as someone who lives with her and should also be protected.
Perry says Hedrick, who she describes as transient, showed up uninvited at her home twice in May. After his first visit, security had him arrested, but just a week later, she claims he returned to the property.
In the court documents, obtained by TMZ, Perry is urging the court to keep him at least 100 yards away from her, Bloom, her homes, her workplace, and even her car. Her security team notes that they do not believe Hedrick will back off on his own, and that Perry's concerns are valid.

Perry's current legal battle for protection is not new territory. The star has been dealing with stalkers for nearly a decade, and the latest incident is only the most recent in a string of disturbing encounters.
Back in 2017, Perry faced one of her most alarming stalker scares when a man named Pawel Jurski was arrested after trying to rush the stage during her concert in Miami.
TMZ reported at the time that Jurski had been following Perry across multiple cities, attending at least six of her shows in just under three weeks and trying to make contact at each stop. His obsession took a dangerous turn when he told police, "I will do whatever it takes to be with Katy Perry."
The 37-year-old from Poland was hit with multiple charges, including aggravated stalking, loitering, and resisting arrest. A Miami judge later set his bail at $34,000 and ordered him to surrender his travel documents.

The year 2020 brought another terrifying moment for Perry and her family. The Blast reported that the 40-year-old filed for a restraining order after a man named William jumped the fence at her Beverly Hills home while she, her now-ex Orlando Bloom, and their then one-month-old daughter, Daisy, were inside.
In court documents, Perry made it clear she had never met the man before, calling him a "complete stranger" who not only trespassed but also made violent threats online, including one where he allegedly wrote about wanting to "snap Orlando Bloom's neck."
Security detained him on the property and held him under citizen's arrest until LAPD arrived. The actress said she feared the man could have access to weapons and that the risk was too serious to ignore.
The court later approved her request for a temporary restraining order, giving the family some protection and peace of mind.
Orlando Bloom Breaks Silence On 'New Beginning' After Katy Perry Split

Bloom appears to be taking the high road after his breakup with Perry, and he is doing it with a few choice words about moving forward. Following the news that he and the mother-of-one officially ended their long-term relationship, Bloom took to Instagram to share two reflective quotes.
One came from Buddha, reading, "Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most." The other, a motivational line by Daisaku Ikeda, emphasized the power of taking the first step and conquering fear.
While Bloom did not name Perry directly, the timing of the posts makes the message hard to miss. The Blast highlighted that a source close to the actor shared that Bloom feels like his "normal self."
That tracks, considering Bloom stepped into this new chapter while attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding festivities in Venice.
The Former Couple Had Been Enduring Months Of Tension

Perry and Bloom did not just wake up one day and call it quits; their breakup had reportedly been slowly unraveling behind the scenes for months.
Sources close to the couple say the relationship had been through several rough patches over the years. While they managed to reconcile after past breakups, this time was different.
The distance only widened after the holidays. "It was just one little thing after another. After the holidays and into the New Year, it became easier to live their individual lives instead of a life together," they explained.
And unlike past splits, this one seems final. The insider added, "He isn't going to try to get her back. It's over, and he has accepted it."
Katy Perry now finds herself battling for peace and safety on two very different fronts.
