If you're unfamiliar with the show, "Halston" is a five-part Netflix biopic that puts "Kenobi" star Ewan McGregor in the shoes of Halston.

Plugged as the "untold story of the meteoric rise and fall of the first American celebrity fashion designer," the show follows Halston's rise from humble Midwest origins making hats to his eventual fall from grace after he becomes overwhelmed by the glitz and glam of living the high life.

Although he eventually lost control over his brand, Halston was the first high-end designer to diversify his portfolio and create designer lingerie, perfume, luggage, and bedding, building indulgence in every area of a consumer's life.

Although the show primarily focuses on Halston's evolving social circle, the Halston family has slammed the show, calling it "fictionalized" and "inaccurate."

Elsa Peretti, who passed away at age 80 in March 2021, is probably best known for being a Tiffany & Company jewelry designer.

Arguably one of the most successful female jewelry designers of all time, the Italian-born beauty came to America and worked as a model, quickly making her way into Halston's social circle.

Although initially designing jewelry and perfume bottles for Halston, the release of her 1974 collection with Tiffany's made her an overnight success, and started a new tradition where women started buying jewelry for themselves instead of receiving them as gifts.

Their partnership would prove to be extremely auspicious: over time, her work accounted for about 10% of the company's total sales.

Dayan revealed that she feels a strong bond with her character, identifying her as an "incredible role model."

"I wish I could’ve met Elsa and told her that she kept me sane through this crazy time. I have her to thank for that," she said

"She’s such an incredible role model. We talk about 'girl bosses' and she was one of the first. She knew her worth, didn’t compromise, and created something new. I feel like younger generations don’t really know who she is, so hopefully, with this show, she’ll be recognized again."
