Former WWE star Nikki Bella is a tough woman both in and out of the ring. The 37-year-old and her twin sister Brie have created successful careers as wrestlers, entrepreneurs, and reality TV stars. Although, Nikki has many roles, her greatest one is being a mom.

On July 31st, 2020, Nikki and her fiancé "Dancing With the Stars" pro Artem Chigvintsev welcomed their son Matteo. Nikki has adjusted well to life with her baby, but as a new mom she's faced some challenges. Being in the public eye and sharing details about her life, Nikki is often faced with criticism. Recently, Nikki's parenting skills have come under fire, which has the "Total Bellas" star fighting back.

Solo Trip To San Diego

Like many celebrities, Nikki is used to traveling a lot. The former Divas Champion spent a majority of her time on the road during her WWE days. Although, she's retired now, Nikki still has to make an occasional trip.

In early April, Nikki and her sister Brie traveled to Tampa, Florida, where they were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Although, it was a huge moment for Nikki, Artem and Matteo missed out on the trip. Nikki's fiancé and baby also weren't there when she recently took a trip to San Diego.

Criticism Over Vacation

It didn't take long for Artem and Matteo's absence to gain attention. Upon realizing that her fiancé and baby were missing from her recent trips, Nikki was met with mom-shaming.

The "Total Bellas" star was met with criticism for leaving her family at home, while she went on vacation. Many critics called Nikki selfish, while others questioned her love for her fiancé and son. After some of the comments reached Nikki, she decided to fight back and explain her side of the story.

Nikki Shuts Down Mom-Shamers

During an episode of "The Bellas Podcast," Nikki sat down with Brie to discuss the vacation controversy. Nikki started off by explaining she's not the type of person to vacation without her fiancé and baby. She also reiterated that her and Artem's relationship is fine, and there's no trouble.

She then delved into why Matteo and Artem didn't attend the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. With the festivities being in Tampa, she was worried it'd mess with Matteo's schedule. "I'm not going to bring my family across country fora few days and get my baby on Eastern Standard Time when he's Pacific Standard Time."

As for her San Diego trip, in which she reunited with her Hooters pals. Nikki explained that she was only in town for 24 hours and it was for business. While on her trip she decided to catch up with her old pals.

Making Assumptions About Her Life

Nikki has allowed fans a glimpse of her life via social media and "Total Bellas." Although, she doesn't mind sharing aspects of her personal life, Nikki also admits it has its drawbacks. Nikki explains how people freak out when she doesn't post photos of Artem, and assume the couple's headed for splitsville.

Nikki says that when she and Artem are alone, they don't pull out their phones. "We just want to make dinner and binge a reality show," the Birdiebee founder explained. As for vacations for the family of three, Nikki says that her and Artem have discussed the possibility, and Paris and London are their top destination spots.
