David Beckham's shocking injury comes amid the ongoing tension between his family, his oldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz.

Victoria announced her husband had been hospitalized on Friday, June 27, sharing a picture of David lying on a hospital bed on her Instagram Stories. The image captured the former athlete rocking a blue sling on his arm, implying he had suffered an injury.

Despite having one arm out of commission, David looked far from unhappy as he flashed a cheeky smile at the camera. "Get well soon, daddy," Victoria captioned the post, adding a white heart emoji. Her health updates continued in a separate post that revealed her husband was no longer at the hospital.

The picture, presumably taken at the couple's home, was a close-up shot of David in bed. His free hand and lower half wrapped underneath white sheets were visible as he flaunted a cute friendship bracelet. The jewelry's letter beads read, "Get well soon," with tiny black hearts on the ends.

Although Victoria and David have not revealed the reason behind his hospital visit, The Sun reported the media personality had secretly gone under the knife sometime this week to fix an old injury. A source told the outlet he had been "in pain for years" after snapping his wrist in 2003.

They alleged that David's pain had become "unbearable" in recent months, leading to his hospital visit and a subsequent X-ray scan. The result reportedly revealed that a screw from the former athlete's 2003 surgery had become stuck in his forearm and had not dissolved properly.

Therefore, David underwent another operation 22 years later to fix this alleged problem. The surgery appeared to have been successful, as indicated by Victoria's Instagram Stories update.

David snapped his wrist during a match against South Africa in May 2003 while playing for England's national soccer team.

During the match against South Africa, David was injured four minutes into the second half after landing awkwardly on his right arm following a challenge from Thabang Molefe. He reportedly writhed in pain on the ground after the incident but continued to play.
