Why The Giudice Patriarch Was Deported To Italy

Joe's immigration troubles started in 2013 after he and his ex-wife faced fraud charges. Their indictment and guilty convictions earned them time behind bars, with the Giudice patriarch receiving 41 months, followed by his deportation to Italy.
An immigration court judge ruled on Joe's deportation in 2018, ordering his return to Italy after his sentence was completed in 2019. The media personality could not avoid this fate because he had never applied for American citizenship, despite having lived there since childhood.
"I was a year old when I came here. My parents are citizens. My brother and sister are citizens — they were born here. I just never thought to file for citizenship," Joe explained at the time.
PEOPLE shared that he considered himself an American and claimed that, despite being born in Italy, moving there would be a cultural shock because he knew nothing about his birthplace.
Joe And Teresa Giudice Appear To Have Resolved Their Differences

Joe and Teresa appear to be on better terms than two years ago, with the "RHONJ" alum supporting her ex-husband's plea to come home. She dropped two comments underneath the post, featuring prayer hands and red heart emojis, which Joe liked.
Teresa dropped the comments through her personal Instagram account and her "Turning The Tables By Teresa" podcast account.
This show of love marked significant progress in the former couple's relationship, as The Blast previously reported that Joe had been involved in fights with his ex-wife and her second husband, Luis Ruelas.
While celebrating her sister-in-law's birthday in January 2023, Teresa penned a sweet note praising her husband's sister. However, Joe mocked her for her feud with her brother, Joe Gorga, and his wife, Melissa. His since-deleted comment read: "I thought you loved Melissa."
