Kristin Cavallari is setting the record straight. The reality TV star has finally broken her silence on the long-standing drug rumors that haunted her during her time on "The Hills," calling the allegations not only false but "unfair."
In a candid new interview, Cavallari claimed producers went as far as bribing her co-stars with luxury items to accuse her of using drugs on camera.
Cavallari says the moment led to emotional and legal fallout, yet she has emerged stronger, owning her mistakes and growing into a more authentic version of herself on-screen.
Kristin Cavallari Talks About Her Controversial Drug Allegations

Cavallari's time on "The Hills" wasn't free from controversy. The 38-year-old was hit with major drug allegations from co-stars, which she says were deeply rooted in manipulation by the production team.
Speaking to PEOPLE for an episode of "Reality Rewatch," Cavallari provided details about what allegedly happened.
"I've talked about it a million times, but it's one of the producers bribed the girls with a Birkin bag to call me out on camera for doing drugs," she said.
The fashion designer went on to describe the allegations as "really unfair," adding that it spiraled into a mess of scripted drama, lawyers, and public scrutiny.
"It got really messy. All of our lawyers got involved. I threatened to quit the show at one point. It was just really bad. And I was a young kid. I'm not saying I was perfect," Cavallari explained.
Cavallari Takes Responsibility For Her Actions

As a young woman in her early twenties, the fallout affected Kristin Cavallari's confidence and well-being.
However, instead of keeping a low profile, she began reflecting and dealing with the emotional aftermath of being portrayed as out of control.
Now in her thirties and removed from those chaotic days, Cavallari says she has found clarity and taken responsibility for her part in the drama.
"It took me years to actually take a hard look in the mirror and realize what I could have done differently to avoid that," she said. "For years, I blamed other people. And finally when I could take accountability and ownership for that is when I could free myself from it. It's part of my journey, but it was hard for me to go through it at the time."
Despite everything she encountered on "The Hills," Cavallari is still very much interested in reality TV.
Five years after she wrapped her reality show, "Very Cavallari," the jewelry designer is set to return to the screen with her docuseries, "Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour."
Kristin Cavallari Talks About Her Return To Reality TV

In May 2025, Cavallari opened up to PEOPLE about her decision to return to reality TV.
"I know I've said a thousand times that I would never go back to reality TV," she said. "This worked out really well for me because I was already going on a podcast tour, and so I just thought, if cameras want to come along, I'm already doing it. It just really kind of naturally fit into my life."
Unlike "The Hills," which she described as manufactured drama, Cavallari revealed her upcoming docuseries reflected authenticity. "[It's] the only show that I've done where I can say it was 100% authentic. It was real. It was the most real show I've ever done, and that was a really enjoyable experience, she said.
Cavallari Says She Nearly Stopped Production

Kristin Cavallari told the outlet that things became so real that she nearly quit production when she felt they were becoming too unnatural.
"I actually tried to quit the show three days into production because, and this isn't a knock on any of the producers, but I think when there's a lot of cooks in the kitchen, everyone gets excited, and they had a lot of ideas about who should come on my podcast tour, and it started really taking a left turn from what it was intended to be," she said.
However, Cavallari said she put her foot down and took control, adding that it made everyone realize that she wouldn't do the show if it weren't real.
"I don't want to come in and have you guys tell us what conversations to have," she shared.
Kristin Cavallari Admits To Getting Another Breast Surgery

That same month, Cavallari revealed she had a terrifying health scare involving her breasts.
On her "Let's Be Honest" podcast, the star credited her gut instinct for uncovering a silent crisis tied to her breast implants.
She revealed that despite thinking one breast was merely sagging from age and gravity, something "felt off," and she decided to seek a consultation.
Surprisingly, a Nashville surgeon discovered a ruptured implant surrounded by scar tissue, causing visible asymmetry.
Shocked by the finding, Cavallari underwent corrective surgery, replacing her implants and regaining confidence.
