Tom Cruise has a friend in the rap game!
50 Cent praised the legendary actor on Wednesday, May 12, after Cruise reportedly sent his Golden Globes back to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Tom is the latest and greatest star to come out against the lack of diversity and the lack of effort to change the HFPA, and he put his money where his mouth was... meaning he returned the three awards he won. According to Deadline, he sent back the Best Actor awards for his performances in "Jerry Maguire" and "Born on the Fourth of July," as well as his Best Supporting Actor for "Magnolia."
50, real name Curtis Jackson, honored Tom's gesture with a tribute post on social media.
"For the first time since 1996 NBC won’t be airing the Golden Globs[sic]," 50 Cent wrote, "no diversity, no show. @tomcruise is the man for sending his trophy’s[sic] back."

NBC recently announced that they pulled the annual show from the lineup this year as the HFPA deals with Hollywood's diversity demands.
“We continue to believe that the HFPA is committed to meaningful reform,” the network said in a statement. “However, change of this magnitude takes time and work, and we feel strongly that the HFPA needs time to do it right. As such, NBC will not air the 2022 Golden Globes. Assuming the organization executes on its plan, we are hopeful we will be in a position to air the show in January 2023.”
It was revealed during February's broadcast that the HFPA has zero black members. Since then, studios and actors have remained unsatisfied with their diversity efforts. Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos was one of the largest voices that announced that his company would not be associated with the HFPA until real change is made.
