Las Vegas Aces Star A'ja Wilson Fastest To 5,000 Career Points

Heading into Wednesday night's Aces home game against the Connecticut Sun, Wilson only needed seven points to hit the major milestone of becoming the fastest player in WNBA history to score 5,000 career points. She hit her milestone points with a layup midway through the second quarter.
The three-time league MVP is the 28th player to reach 5,000 career points. But Wilson went one further by achieving this milestone in just 238 games, making her the quickest to reach this goal. The previous record of 5,000 career points was set by New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart in 242 games. Wilson is also the second youngest to hit 5,000 career points, just behind Lauren Jackson.
During the milestone game, Wilson dropped 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. And she now has 5,015 career points going into the next game!

"It meant a lot to me. It's been a special, special season for us. There's been a lot of ups and downs," she said. "But when you can hit a milestone like this in a league like this, I can't let it go unnoticed, so I'm grateful, I'm blessed."
She added, "I'm so happy I got to do it in my Princess Tianas, 'Princess and the Frog' is my favorite movie, so I got the chance to do it in these shoes and it's my first time ever writing something on shoes, but I'm definitely gonna cherish this moment because it's been a lot of fun, but obviously we got a lot of work to do."
