Scott Wolf Files Restraining Order Against Wife Kelley Following 5150 Hold And Divorce Bombshell

Scott Wolfand wife Kelley Wolf’s split just took a dramatic turn. The “Party of Five” star has filed a restraining order against his estranged wife following her involuntary psychiatric hold earlier this month.

The move comes just weeks after the couple announced their separation after more than two decades of marriage.

With new court filings, emotional fallout, and public accusations surfacing, what started as a quiet breakup has erupted into a deeply personal and increasingly public legal battle.

Scott officially filed a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife on Tuesday, June 24, in a Utah court, with Kelley being served the following day.

While the exact details remain under seal due to state law, the request reportedly includes a supporting declaration from Scott’s brother, Michael Wolf.

A hearing has been scheduled for July 1, where the court will decide whether to grant the order.

Following the news of the restraining order, a source close to Kelley spoke to Us Weekly about the impact on the couple’s three kids, Jackson, Miller, and Lucy.

“It’s so sad for the kids, but Kelley is ready to fight like hell for her children,” they said. “It is not warranted, it’s cruel. And it’s incorrect.”

The restraining order comes nearly two weeks after Kelley was placed under an involuntary 5150 psychiatric hold on June 13 after authorities responded to a wellness check at the Sundance Resort in Utah.

According to reports, an unidentified female suspected to be Kelley made a 911 call that morning, claiming she was having issues with her brother-in-law and 16-year-old son, and didn’t feel safe at home.

“I’m going through a very bitter divorce battle with my now, hopefully, ex-husband, who is currently filming a movie in Los Angeles,” she said in an audio clip of the call obtained by TMZ. “His brother is here, meant to be helping with our children, and I do not feel safe with him in the house.”

The caller also noted that she was “terrified” and “needed help” because her son and brother-in-law were allegedly blocking her from entering her home.

“I am shaking, terrified and I need help,” she said. “I want to enter the home, and they are blocking my entrance to the home. What do I do?”

Following the call, the authorities arrived at the scene to inspect the situation, and one of the male individuals opened up to the officers about a past assault occurrence involving the female caller on March 6, 2025.

The man claimed the distressed caller put her hands around his neck, but he clarified that she “did not choke him hard enough to restrict blood or air flow.”

“After a few minutes of conversation, [the alleged victim] stated that [the individual’s] attempt to choke him may have caused air and [blood] flow restriction for a small moment,” the responding officer’s police report read, per Us Weekly.

“[The alleged victim] stated [the individual] did this in their bedroom while he was laying in bed in the presence of [a third party],” it continued. “[The alleged victim] stated he did not receive any injuries, marks or bruises from the incident.”

Shortly after, Scott Wolf’s wife was detained by the police and taken to the local hospital.

In a video capturing the moment police officials arrived to take her to the hospital, Kelley could be heard saying, “Oh my God. Don’t. Oh my God, this is not happening. This is shameful, gentlemen.”

The 48-year-old was held for a short while before getting released. Since her release, Kelley has been vocal about her detainment.

In an Instagram post made on June 23, Kelley revealed, “I’m fine y’all. I’m happy.”

“No mental. No addictions,” she added. “Just a woman who SURVIVED an involuntary 5150 and went on a 1st DATE 2-night. So nervous! OMG!”

She also told her followers she was “alive” and finally on vacation after a long time.

Kelly’s detainment comes amid her split from Scott. On June 9, the actor filed court documents, indicating his desire to divorce his wife.

“After 21 years of marriage, I have made the most difficult decision of my life, and filed for divorce from my wife Kelley,” he said in a statement.

“Our children have always been, and continue to be the loves of our lives and our every priority, so I kindly ask for privacy at this time as we help guide them through this new chapter.”

Kelley also released a statement, revealing that although the divorce petition originated from her estranged husband, she had long wanted to leave the marriage.

She said, “I initiated a separation almost a year ago. I’ve been trying to file for divorce for months, but delays with legal counsel slowed the process.”

She added, “Yes, the official petition came from the other party, but let the record show: I’ve been grieving this marriage for years. This isn’t avoidance — it’s acceptance. I’m far past the grief. I’m well into the healing. Very much so.”
