Jonathan Joss' alleged murderer insists he did not commit any crime!
The American actor's suspected killer reinforces his defense by pleading not guilty to his charges, asserting that he did not take the actor's life via murder.
Jonathan Joss, known for his roles in "King of the Hill" and other productions, suddenly passed away in San Antonio on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
Jonathan Joss' Alleged Killer Claims He Acted In Self-Defense

The alleged culprit, whose real name is Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez, also known by the alias "Freddy," has expressed his innocence through his attorney, Nico LaHood.
The lawyer confirmed that his client has decided to plead not guilty to killing the voice actor, which means he is claiming innocence. Freddy's lawyer established that the serious allegations leveled against his client have left him battling crushing emotional tolls.
Attorney LaHood pointed out that Alvarez, who shares a familial bond with a homosexual, is upset that some have accused him of murdering the actor due to homophobia tendencies and maintains that the allegations are false.
Immediately after his arrest, the alleged murderer was freed on a $200,000 bond. He has now been put under house arrest in Bexar County and will be subjected to random drug and alcohol screening during the period he is under house arrest.
The suspect will also be barred from carrying any firearms or deadly weapons as he awaits trial. The fatal incident reportedly occurred on June 1 when Alvarez engaged in a heated exchange of words with his killer.
It was then that Joss wielded his weapon and sent the actor to his early grave. TMZ reported that the late actor's spouse had since described her heartthrob's death as the classic instance of a hate crime rooted in homophobia.
Law Enforcement Recanted Their Initial Stance On The Actor's Murder
Joss' death and law enforcement's initial reaction to it sparked a discourse on how insensitive the public may be to the woes of the LGBTQ+ community.
In this regard, a press conference was promptly scheduled for Thursday, June 5, 2025, at which San Antonio Police Chief William McManus readdressed the incident.
McManus apologetically explained that his department had hastily labeled the incident as not a hate crime, which was untrue. As shared by The Blast, the local police had earlier insisted that there was no evidence suggesting that Joss's sexual orientation played a role in his murder.
The police chief immediately took responsibility for the hasty statement in his second address. He recognized that the weight of their actions sent cold shivers across the LGBTQ+ community, putting them in a state of fear and neglect.
McManus was filled with regret over his action and noted that it was improper to release such a statement without performing due diligence or gathering necessary information.
He rounded up his address by honoring Joss's life and time, describing his unfortunate passing as a tragedy that reverberated across the LGBTQ+ community.
The chief addressed why charges of hate crimes were not leveled against Alvarez. According to him, the state of Texas does not allow separate charges for hate crimes, and it is up to the District Attorney's office to determine the correct charges.
Nevertheless, Chief McManus was quick to point out that his detective force is currently working hard to scrub all the available leads in a bid to unearth the truth behind the mindless murder of Joss.
Joss' Husband's Account Of The Incident Differs From The Suspected Killer's
Tristan Kern de Gonzales, Joss's husband, shared touching details about the tragic murder, alleging that homophobia fueled the shooting.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Gonzales described how they experienced and endured two years of harassment and threats from neighbors in San Antonio. He claimed that their property even became a target of arsonists due to the harassment.
The situation reportedly escalated to a horrifying incident when they discovered the skull of one of their dogs displayed outside, leading to an emotional response from them.
Their misery reportedly angered a particular neighbor, who reacted violently with hurtful slurs and eventually reached for his firearm to take the actor's life.
The Late 59-Year-Old's Neighbors Claimed He Likely Battled With Mental Health Problems
Various reactions have trailed the actor's passing, including from his neighbors, who suggested that rather than homophobia, the actor's death was fueled by tension in his interpersonal relationships.
Eyewitnesses, according to The Blast, recalled the history of conflict between Joss and Alvarez, reportedly propagated by Joss's disruptive behavior in the neighborhood.
The neighbors claimed the late actor became fond of frustrating residents during a series of explosive verbal outbursts, which often involved him hurling insults at passersby.
The late TV star also reportedly exhibited bizarre behaviors, including banging pots and pans from his rooftop at night. He would then proceed to apologize to his neighbors for his unruly behavior, a pattern some have attributed to deeper mental health problems.
The tension between Alvarez and Joss reportedly became unbearable, with the other side choosing the deadly route of ending his neighbor's life.
