With celebrities earning millions of dollars from film and television, they can afford to indulge in a nice mansion or two. Celebrities such as Angelina Jolie own several properties. With California being a hot spot for the rich and famous, many stars have homes in the Golden State.

But with a job that requires them to travel a lot, celebs have visited plenty of tropical locations. From the Bahamas to the French Riviera to Tahiti, celebrities are lucky to experience these paradises. Some stars fall in love with these locations and purchase a home so they can visit whenever they please.

There's plenty of foreign locations that celebrities call their second home. One hotspot for Hollywood's elite is The French Riviera. This beautiful stretch of coastline located in the south of France is popular with tourists.

With its majestic beaches, historic architecture, casinos, and glamourous shops; it's no wonder why the area is a top vacation destination. Many celebs have fallen in love with the beauty and tranquility of The French Riviera. In fact, many A-listers have mansions along the coastal area.

Angelina Jolie is a world traveler. The 45-year-old actress and her six children have traveled to many locations throughout the years. One place that holds special meaning to Jolie is her home Chateau Miraval.

In 2008, Jolie and her ex-husband Brad Pitt were staying in the home as they awaited the birth of their twins Knox and Vivienne. The couple loved the house so much that they officially purchased it in 2012. With views of a nearby vineyard and lake along with amenities such as a swimming pool, it's no wonder the couple shelled out $67 million for the property.

In August 2014, Chateau Miraval served as the backdrop of Angelina and Brad's wedding. Unfortunately, the couple divorced two years later. As for who got to keep the house, the couple is still in an ongoing battle over the property.

France has become a second home for Johnny Depp.  In 2001, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star and his then girlfriend model Vanessa Paradis moved into a 37-acre estate near St. Tropez. Much like Depp, the mansion and the land is eccentric.

Aside from the enormous 12-bedroom house, the land also includes a restaurant and a small church. The estate's amenities include a swimming pool with outdoor entertaining area, and a wine cave. Throughout the years, Depp has put his own spin on renovations, which included converting the church into a guest house.

Known for his flamboyance style, it seems that Elton John's flair style carries over to his decorating. The "Rockman" singer's villa in Nice, France is quite colorful. With yellow exterior, the house stands out from the rest of the neighborhood.

Surrounded by lush gardens filled with colorful flowers, the villa offers great views and privacy for John and husband David Furnish. After purchasing the 1920s villa, Elton went to work adding redecorating the place. As an art lover, Elton decorated his home with paintings from artist Julian Schnabel. Meanwhile, the pool area features Greek statues.

Elton's has entertained many famous pals over the years. In the summer of 2019, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their son Archie stayed at the singer's villa during a family vacation.

When he's not in the studio or on tour, the rocker loves to jet to his coastal home with his wife Ali. The couple is often spotted taking a stroll around town or riding their bikes.

Bono has plenty of celebrity pals living nearby. U2 guitarist Edge also has a house a few blocks down from his friend. In 2019, Bono played host to former President Barack Obama and his family when they visited the French Riviera.
