John Cena recently lashed out at a WWE fan who appeared to break an unwritten rule regarding interaction with the wrestling star.
Although the pair seemingly brushed the tense encounter aside and later shook hands, fans were shocked to see the actor in that state, and many took to the comment section to share their reactions.
John Cena has a thriving Hollywood career following his massive success in WWE, but he insists that his "number one passion" is neither acting nor wrestling.
John Cena Involved In A Tense Exchange With A WWE Fan

Cena was involved in a tense exchange with a fan backstage at an event after the person broke his golden rule of fan interaction.
In a viral TikTok post, the 48-year-old wrestling star is seen walking amid an entourage of people, but stops to take pictures with a fan after they politely ask for one.
Cena proceeded to take his leave, but the fan started recording him, asking, "What are you wearing?"
The move seemed to irk Cena, who then turned back to sternly warn the fan, saying: "I'm a big fan of consent, right, so if you would like to take a video [please ask]."
The "Fast X" actor then walked away from the person filming him, but shortly returned to apologize for his reaction.
"I'm sorry for walking away from you. I just [felt] like I was in a tough situation. I just know it's kind of chaos back here," Cena said, as the fan made sure to express that they took no offense with him.
The pair shook hands firmly, with Cena adding, "It's all good. I'll give you whatever you want as long as you ask."
Fans Were Shocked By The WWE Star's Reaction
Several fans took to the comment section to speculate on why the often-affable Cena would react in such a manner.
A fan wrote, "He is so respectful that he came and apologized for being nice while saying no. he truly is a class act."
Someone else said Cena "can't be a villain even if he tried with all his might."
Another stated, "He's a great guy, he just asks for respect and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it."
John Cena Faced Some Criticism For 'Singling Out' The Fan

Meanwhile, others were furious at the star for reacting to a fan in such a fashion in the first place.
"I'm a huge Cena fan, but this made me a bit upset. He shouldn't be at a convention where he is paid to be and complain about people recording him at Fanatics Fest," a fan said.
Another user wrote, "Is there a reason he singled this guy out? He's walking around some kind of backstage fan event thing with multiple people pointing their phones and cameras at him."
"I don't really get why he gets mad at being recorded at an event like this, like obviously there's cameras everywhere. If he's out in his day-to-day life getting lunch, then sure, but for this, it's expected," A third TikTok user said.
"I like Cena and the way he apologized, but at the same time, he needs to remember that he's in a public place where everyone is taking pictures or recording him. Is he gonna tell the crowd they can't do that while in the middle of wrestling?" someone else wrote.
The Actor Reveals His 'Number One Passion'

Following decades of being a top actor and a wrestler, one would expect that Cena's utmost passion would be either of the two professions.
However, the "Heads Of State" star has shared that his "number one passion" is his wife Shay Shariatzadeh, whom he married at an attorney's office in Tampa, Florida, in 2020.
The couple enjoyed a date night at the recent premiere of Cena's new action comedy, where he was asked if acting is his number one passion now that he's retiring from WWE.
"My number one passion is my wife. Absolutely, that is first on the list. I'd say right behind that is my health so I can be the best husband to my wife," he said, per ExtraTV.
John Cena To Retire This Year

Regarding his retirement from Wrestling, Cena clarified that he wouldn't be going beyond this year but will somehow remain involved with the industry as an ambassador.
"This is my final year in the WWE. I'm retiring this year," he confirmed. "We're about halfway through, so I look forward to officially closing the book on in-ring competition. I will forever be an ambassador of the WWE. I'll be part of that family till they ask me to leave."
Weighing in on the action in his new movie "Heads Of State," Cena compared it to WWE, saying, "A lot of the comedy here is a head of state figure who thinks he's actually tough in my lane and is not, is punching way above his weight class."
He added, So I just basically had to get beat up, and I've been doing that for 25 years, so it's just another day in the office."
