Giving some insight into the wisdom, Richie tells The Blast:

"He said he was proud of me and to keep my head up."

Richie added that Drew made it clear, "Men like me are special and I will have no problem because I always win."

After news broke of the separation, Nik Richie and Shayne Lamas, the daughter of "Renegade" star Lorenzo Lamas, released a joint statement:

"With great sadness, after 11 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce, we have nothing but love and respect for one another and will cherish the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate our new normal within our family."

Days before Dr. Drew and Nik Richie were enjoying steaks in Laguna Beach, the former "Loveline" host made headlines for dining at a famed NYC restaurant during a shootout.

According to multiple reports, Dr. Drew was dining at Peter Luger with his family when an argument outside the steakhouse resulted in a man pulling a handgun and opening fire, striking innocent bystanders, including restaurant patrons dining outside. Drew reportedly sprung into action and tried to administer medical aid before being pulled back by the staff and barricading himself in a corner with nearby tables.

The shooter is in custody while the two victims were rushed to the hospital and expected to survive.
