After years of legal wrangling with 85-year-old veteran Carl Westcott, Perry finally secured the sprawling Montecito estate she once said was perfect for raising her daughter Daisy with Orlando Bloom.

However, in a surprising twist, the Daily Mail has confirmed that the singer has rented out the property to "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Chris Pratt.

Pratt, 46, along with his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, 35, and their three children, recently moved into the lavish estate as they await the completion of their Brentwood home.

Rentals in the exclusive neighborhood, home to the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry, can reportedly fetch up to $120,000 per month.

"The arrangement suits Chris," a source shared, "but it's a bit of a surprise given how Katy fought tooth and nail to get her hands on the house. She previously suggested it was the ideal place for her and Orlando to raise a family. After all that time, energy, and money, it seems unthinkable that they are not going to live in it."

Recall that Perry and Orlando Bloom were awarded ownership of the then-$15 million Montecito mansion following a heated legal dispute with 85-year-old veteran Carl Westcott.

In 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Westcott agreed to sell the property but tried to reverse the decision days later, citing impaired judgment from medication and declining health caused by Huntington's disease.

Despite his pleas, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Joseph Lipner ruled in 2023 that there was insufficient evidence to void the sale, finalizing Perry's ownership in 2024.

However, the battle didn't end there as Perry later filed a $6 million lawsuit against Westcott for back rent and property damages.

Speaking with The U.S. Sun, Westcott's son, Chart, slammed the singer's actions as lacking empathy and compassion.

He said, "If an old man apologizes and says he made a mistake [about the house sale], and she's a rich pop star who can buy any other house in the world, you'd think she would let the old man go on his way."

He continued, "She has no sense of fair play, no empathy, zero empathy, quite the opposite."

Chart also criticized Perry's legal team, stating, "The worse the condition my father is in, the harsher they've been in the trial; it's unfortunate to see the way her lawyers have conducted themselves, the bottom of the barrel in terms of ethics."

Calling the legal move "greedy," Chart said, "This is such a small deal to be worried about - I think its a matter of privilege - her lawyers and her business manager are dealing with it. The last hearing we had, the judge has said she must testify."

Family Labels Perry And Orlando Bloom's Actions 'Unreasonable'

When asked if he had a message for Katy Perry and Bloom, Chart responded, "It's a hard question because I don't feel like anyone is listening—they sold their souls long ago… they chose. It's unforgivable how they have conducted their affairs."

He continued, "They treat ordinary people like dirt. It's been a difficult time for the family."

Despite Westcott's declining health, he has remained silent on the damages case. "Everyone knows Dad is bedridden—and he has survived longer than we ever expected, it's a miracle he's still alive," Chart said.

"We are inherently very reasonable people, and we are interested in a reasonable outcome for all involved," he concluded. "It's unfortunate that Katy and Orlando have been unreasonable from the start."

Meanwhile, the timing of Katy Perry renting her home to Chris Pratt is raising eyebrows.

Perry and Orlando Bloom once declared the estate their dream family home. Now, with Pratt temporarily residing there, whispers about a possible split have resurfaced.

However, sources close to Perry claim she still intends to live in the mansion after the short-term rental ends.
