Salma Hayek has taken on many professions in her years of acting and she's admitting that, although she had fun, doing the job of a real nurse is more taxing than any of us can imagine. As International Nurses Week kicks off, the "Grown Ups" star is paying tribute to one of the hardest working groups of professionals around the world.

Digging into her vault of treasures, Salma Hayek took to Instagram and shared a clip of her and Kevin James from the 2012 comedy, "Here Comes the Boom."

In the scene, Salma Hayek exercises her comedic flexibility by straddling the "King of Queens" star and trying to reset his dislocated shoulder. While it probably would take a little more in real-life, Hayek recognized how many different career paths she's been able to test out on the bit screen.

"I’ve had the privilege to play a nurse in a comedy #herecomestheboom in a horror film #thefaculty and in a musical #acrosstheuniverse."

she continued, "However, in real life working as a nurse can be a difficult drama. So we say thank you for your relentless commitment to get us through the hard times!"

According to NursingWorld.org:

"National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale's birthday,"

Florence Nightingale, known as "The Lady with the Lamp," is considered the Godmother of modern nursing after establishing many of the sanitation and organizational techniques she innovated back during the Crimean War as she and her staff tended to wounded soldiers.

In 1860, after the war, Nightingale founded the first professional nursing school at St. Thomas' Hospital in London and forever changed the history of modern medicine.

While nursing has become a well-respected and necessary profession, many stars have donned a set of scrubs over the years for roles on television, in music videos and also feature films.

According to a 2019 list compiled by Ranker, some of the most memorable nursing roles include Ann Perkins from "Parks and Recreation," Kitty Foreman from "That '70s Show," and Abby Lockhart from "ER," although Abby eventually finished medical school and became a doctor.

Not mentioned on the list, but equally as memorable, include Gaylord Focker of "Meet the Parents," and of course ... Janine Lindemulder from the cover of Blink-182's "Enema of the State."
