Ariana Grande is using her star power to call out injustice, inequality, and what she sees as America’s dangerously misplaced priorities.
Her move comes amid renewed public outcry over ICE raids and ongoing scrutiny of Donald Trump’s multiple criminal indictments.
Known for her history of advocacy, from voter mobilization to LGBTQ+ rights and racial justice, Ariana Grande has once again used her platform of over 380 million followers to draw attention to uncomfortable but urgent truths.
Ariana Grande’s Viral Swipe At Trump And ICE

On Instagram, Ariana Grande lit up timelines with a viral message that didn’t need any added commentary to hit hard, “Could someone explain which crimes get you deported and which ones get you elected President? It’s so confusing.”
The now widely shared quote, posted to her Instagram Stories, came with no caption, just impact. And impact it had.
Grande’s repost struck a chord across social media, sparking conversations about the glaring contrast between how undocumented immigrants are treated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) versus how high-profile figures like Donald Trump continue to operate freely despite mounting legal troubles.
Ariana Grande Faces Backlash From Trump Supporters After Viral Political Post

While many agreed and praised Ariana Grande, several other X users called for her deportation.
"Ariana should get deported," one person expressed.
Another claimed, "Nobody would care if Trump deported Ariana. She contributes nothing to the GDP."
"She should respect her president," a third said.
Fans Praise Ariana Grande For Speaking Out Against Trump

While many didn't hold back, some social media users came to Grande's defense.
"She will always be on the right side of history," one Ariana Grande fan commented. "And that’s why I will forever support her."
"This is one of the reasons I'm a huge fan btw," another individual said.
"She will always be an activist and speak against that orange man," a third expressed.
Though she remained silent on the post itself, Ariana Grande’s timing spoke volumes, but she’s not alone.
Mark Ruffalo Rips Trump And Billionaires

Just days earlier, "Avengers" star and outspoken activist Mark Ruffalo unleashed a fiery political statement, directly taking aim at Trump and America’s billionaire class.
In both a video and an Instagram post, Ruffalo defended immigrants, calling them vital to the U.S. economy and accusing the ultra-wealthy of being the real threat to society.
“It’s time to take our country back from extreme wealth that has its hands all over the power of the nation,” he wrote.
Ruffalo participated in the recent No Kings protest against Trump-era deportation practices and had sharp words for Americans who scapegoat immigrants while ignoring exploitation from above. “You want to get rid of the people who are picking your food… but not question those who dull your minds with lies and disinformation?” he challenged.
He didn’t hold back on Trump either, calling him a “grifter” and accusing his family of profiting from shady ventures, including cryptocurrency schemes. Ruffalo expanded his critique to tech moguls as well, arguing that billionaires enrich themselves off taxpayer dollars while turning a blind eye to humanitarian crises.
LA Dodgers Defy Trump, Pledge $1 Million To Support Families Affected By ICE Raids

The Los Angeles Dodgers also stepped up in a big way by putting their money where their values are.
On Friday, the team announced a $1 million commitment to support immigrant families impacted by recent federal immigration raids in Southern California.
“What's happening in Los Angeles has reverberated among thousands upon thousands of people, and we have heard the calls for us to take a leading role on behalf of those affected,” Dodgers President and CEO Stan Kasten said in a statement emailed to Newsweek. “We believe that by committing resources and taking action, we will continue to support and uplift the communities of Greater Los Angeles.”
The donation, which will be distributed through local nonprofits and advocacy groups, comes on the heels of a viral moment earlier in the week when the Dodgers publicly stated they had denied U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents access to their stadium parking lot.
“We will not assist ICE in their operations,” the team said in a post on X. However, ICE pushed back in a statement to Newsweek, claiming their agents “were never at Dodgers Stadium and thus never tried to gain access.”
Tensions Escalate In L.A. As Trump Deploys Troops Amid ICE Raids And Mounting Protests

Still, the broader context surrounding the Dodgers’ donation has only intensified.
ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have dramatically expanded their enforcement operations in Los Angeles, home to the largest undocumented immigrant population in the country, following Trump’s vow to carry out the largest deportation operation in U.S. history.
The raids sparked citywide protests that, while largely peaceful, included scattered outbreaks of violence.
