Reports have revealed that Jeff Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, have rented out San Giorgio Maggiore, one of Venice's most prestigious islands, for their upcoming wedding.
The couple is set to tie the knot next week at the scenic tourist destination, surrounded by around 200 invited guests comprising close friends and family.
Adding to the extravagance, Jeff Bezos' $500 million superyacht is expected to play a role in the celebration and will reportedly be moored just off the island's coast.
Jeff Bezos And Lauren Sanchez Rented Out One Of Venice's Majestic Islands

According to the Daily Mail, Venice's San Giorgio Maggiore island is set to play a part in Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's upcoming $7 million wedding nuptials.
A source who spoke with the outlet claimed that the couple had rented out the prestigious island for six days, June 24 to June 29, the rumored timeline for the festivities.
On these days, the island will be "off-limits to visitors" within Venice.
The same insider claimed that Bezos's superyacht Koru will be stationed off the coast of the island, and that a private tender service has been secured to carry guests to and fro from the vessel during the celebration.
Sixty of Venice's water taxis and 400 gondolas located on the island have also been reserved, which will presumably serve as part of the logistics arrangements.
Other Details About The Billionaire's Upcoming Nuptials

Aside from the previously mentioned arrangements, it appears that Bezos also plans to use the Scuola Grande della Misericordia as part of the wedding celebrations.
The building, one of the largest and most magnificent in Venice's historic center, has reportedly been booked by the Amazon founder from June 26 to June 28.
As for accommodations, it's believed the couple's guests have reserved most of the top hotels in the city. This includes The Aman, where rooms reportedly cost over $2,700 per night, and Hotel Cipriani, which, though slightly less expensive, still comes in at a steep $2,000 per night.
Meanwhile, Bezos and Sanchez have also arranged for their guests to be treated to an array of sumptuous pastries during the celebration.
For this, they have enlisted the services of local bakery Rosa Salva Venetia, known for offering treats such as tiramisu, cream-filled flaky pastries, and fritelle, a traditional Italian fried delicacy.
The Couple Is 'Madly In Love'

An insider previously reported that the tech billionaire is "madly in love" with Sanchez, noting that the former journalist feels the same way.
"They're like two kids in their relationship; they are madly in love and have endless fun with each other," the insider said about the duo.
"Whether it is watching movies, hanging out on their yacht, having dinners, being with family and friends, it is an endless array of good times. Getting married can't happen soon enough," the source told the Daily Mail about the lovebirds.
Speaking further about their bond, the insider revealed that "they genuinely like each other."
"They know what they have in life and are enjoying it to the fullest. They are each other's lottery ticket," the insider also shared.
Anti-Jeff Bezos Activists Plan To Cause Chaos At The Wedding

Ahead of the festivities, local protesters have vowed to stir up chaos during the event.
Sources allege that some activists plan to show up with water pistols to create disruption, while others have even threatened to throw themselves into the canal if necessary to make their point.
"We'll throw ourselves into the canal if we have to, we'll make sure they choke on their wedding cake," some of the individuals involved in the movement said, per the Italian edition of Vanity Fair magazine.
The group also clarified that their protest is not rooted in opposition to the marriage itself, but rather in their grievances against Bezos.
"We don't object to the marriage, but to the hubris of this technocrat feudal overlord who acts with such entitlement," they added.
Price Spikes Could Occur If Activists Block Major Waterways During The Billionaire's Wedding

As part of their protest against the nuptials, local activists have also threatened to block the main waterways leading into Venice.
If carried out, the action is expected to significantly disrupt the city's supply chain and potentially lead to price spikes for goods and other logistical issues.
"If they block the canal, we wouldn't receive our goods. They would definitely block the Grand Canal, which is what transporters use to deliver goods in the morning," a rep for a local supermarket told theNew York Post.
"They start from Tronchetto and then arrive at Rialto [bridge in the center of the city], so it would create quite a lot of issues. The goods wouldn't arrive."
In the meantime, there have been no reports regarding the security arrangements Bezos has put in place to prevent any disruptions, as he and his fiancée have kept the details of their wedding tightly under wraps since it first made headlines.
