The horror accident has now forced her to postpone her "Sing for Science" appearance at the Ryman Auditorium to September 18.

Musgraves is recovering from a painful injury after taking a nasty fall while on a trip to Mexico, and it has forced her to delay an upcoming performance.
The country-pop star, 36, took to social media to update fans on the situation, sharing an X-ray image alongside a heartfelt message.
"Rescheduling, not canceling," she clarified, making sure fans knew the event would still happen at a later date.
According to Musgraves, the injury occurred during a rainy evening when she slipped while rushing to grab towels.

The fall happened on a slick tile surface she hadn't noticed, resulting in a hard impact to her back and side.
"Thankfully, I didn't smack my head," she wrote. "But I landed very, very hard on my back, left ribcage, and broke rib number six."
The "Rainbow" singer described the injury as intensely painful, stating: "This sh-t is no joke. I'm in a lot of pain and doing ANYTHING is extremely difficult, but I'm managing and being well taken care of."

Due to the injury, Musgraves explained that she physically couldn't make the trip back to Nashville in time for her scheduled appearance at the "Sing for Science" event.
"There is no physical way I can get on a plane and fly back to Nashville for the 'Sing for Science' event," she said.
Sharing her disappointment with fans, the "Butterfly" singer expressed just how much she had been looking forward to the performance.
"I am extremely bummed to have to reschedule as I have been looking forward to this for months, but there is literally no other option," she wrote. "I am so sorry for the inconvenience."
Musgraves then reassured fans that a new date had already been secured: the event will now take place on September 18.
She added that tickets purchased for the original date will still be valid for the rescheduled show. For those unable to attend in September, refunds will be available for the next 30 days.

Following Musgraves' announcement about her injury and the postponed performance, fans were quick to flood her with messages of support and encouragement.
