Speaking on "The View," the longtime co-host said she feels a sense of duty to remain vocal and stressed that she believes the country is in serious "trouble."
Joy Behar also shared that she is hopeful that she can "actually influence people's thinking" through her remarks.
Joy Behar Feels She Is 'Obligated' To Speak About Donald Trump's Administration

During Wednesday's "Behind the Table" discussion on "The View," the famous comedian revealed why she has consistently spoken about the Trump administration on a number of occasions on the show.
Producer Brian Teta asked Behar about what she likes about her role on the talk show, to which the talk show co-host replied, "It's because of the freedom to speak my mind."
She then pivoted to how the show gives her the opportunity to talk about the current administration, something she feels is an "obligation."
"I also feel an obligation to speak about the administration that we're in the midst of, and I feel like we're in a privileged position to say certain things and that we, you know, we can actually influence people's thinking sometimes, even if it's a little bit, that we're in a lot of trouble in this country right now, and that I like the idea that we can say stuff that people will listen to," the 82-year-old said, per the New York Post.
Joy Behar Explains Why Politicians Come To 'The View'

Elsewhere in the segment, Behar discussed why "The View" has become a go-to platform for campaigning politicians and sitting officials.
"We can show them the way they are in real life, the way they really are," Behar revealed.
The TV personality went on to recall meeting Hillary Clinton several times and expressed disappointment that the politician largely avoided appearing on "The View" during her 2016 presidential campaign against Donald Trump.
"I've met Hillary Clinton many times. She's different when she's running for office, and she's all scared to make a mistake. When she's herself, she's very funny," Behar shared.
"She should have come on 'The View' more, I think, at that time. In fact, somebody screwed her up, somebody in her campaign said, 'don't go on,' and it was a big mistake," the octogenarian added about Clinton.
Behar then heaped more praises on Clinton, saying that beyond her political endeavors, she was also a grandma, wife, and mother.
Joy Behar Says Americans Should Be 'Concerned' About 'Trump's Atrocities'

Last month, Behar launched into a tirade against Trump over the wave of controversial motions he has pushed through since beginning his second stint in the White House.
She referred to the motions as "Trump's atrocities" and warned that Americans should be seriously "concerned about" them.
"Here's Trump's atrocities," Behar began, per Decider. "This is what we're concerned about now: Cutting Medicaid, slashing funding for cancer research, slashing funding because of tariffs, dismantling USAID, which helps children who are poor around the world, destroying due process, ending birthright citizenship…"
The Comedian Called Out Donald Trump For Saying Joe Biden Has 'Stage Nine Cancer'

After listing the motions Trump has passed, which she labeled "atrocities," Behar switched to slamming the billionaire politician for his claim that former President Joe Biden is suffering from "stage nine cancer."
"Oh really? Where did he come up with that?" she inquired sarcastically.
"When is Jake Tapper going to write about the cognitive decline of the person who is in charge right now?" she added, referencing author Jake Tapper, who wrote in his book, "Original Sin," that some of Biden's staff were aware of his "cognitive decline" when he was seeking reelection.
More Trump Criticisms From Joy Behar

At times, Behar's criticism of Trump has extended beyond politics and into aspects of his personal life.
During a discussion last year on "The View" about whether Biden should debate Trump ahead of the 2024 election, Behar took a jab at the billionaire mogul by bringing up his scandal involving porn star Stormy Daniels.
"On the one hand, I think that, you know, they should debate that Biden will wipe the floor with him or Biden should just challenge him to push-ups," Behar said at the time, per The Wrap.
"The last time Trump did a push-up, he was on top of Stormy Daniels, OK?" Behar added, referencing the American porn star and former stripper whom Trump allegedly once had an affair with.
Earlier this month, she referenced Daniels once again while criticizing Trump's military parade.
At the time, she sarcastically remarked that the only way she would be interested in the parade is if the porn star jumped out of a cake.
