Singer Slams The Moment Online

Doja took to X (formerly Twitter) in a since-deleted post to express her discomfort about the interaction.

“Bottom line is I’ll smile at you but it doesn’t mean I f-ck with you,” she wrote. “Don’t touch me and manhandle me when you don’t even f-ckin know me. Iykyk.”

She continued in a follow-up tweet. “I honestly think I need to stand up for myself in the moment sometimes. And he didn’t even know my f-ckin name. To be touching me and kissing me on my face like that is crazy.”

She then added, “I threw that musty a-- shirt away btw.”

Responding to fan questions, Doja clarified that while the fan “did smell good,” she was uncomfortable with “how comfortable he was touching me and kissing me without asking permission.”

The backlash was immediate and deeply divided. Critics accused the singer of being harsh toward a fan who meant no harm.

“She’s villainizing you for her not being able to enforce her boundaries,” one user wrote.

Another added, “Imagine meeting your favorite artist, then logging on to social media to see her talking sh-t about you and being musty. I would be embarrassed.”

"The 'you smell great' is crazzzy paired with the Doja Cat tweet," a third pointed out, noting the contracting comments.

"lol she didn’t seem like she hated this interaction at all??" a fourth said with confusion.

"You can tell that her whole interaction was fake from the get-go," someone else chimed in. "I actually feel really bad for Pablo because this probably meant the world to him and then she said what she said."

Fan Breaks Down Over Doja Cat Drama

Pablo eventually addressed the controversy in a tearful follow-up TikTok.

“I just wanna clear this up because it hurts,” he said. “I love her… I just think it’s crazy because she’s the one at this event that’s being so nice. She pointed out my shirt and said, ‘I like that.’”

He explained that Doja asked for the shirt after learning it was from his Pride collection, and he never intended to overstep.

“I’m gay! I would never want to make her feel uncomfortable. She’s so iconic," he said. "I’ve only been saying the nicest things about her.”

“I apologize if I did anything wrong at all,” Pablo said. “Maybe this just shows that not everybody’s who they say they are in person.”
