Ariana Grande's family is mourning a devastating loss, as her beloved grandmother, Marjorie Grande, has passed away at the age of 99.
Her grandmother, affectionately known as Nonna, passed away at the age of 99, as confirmed in a touching tribute shared by Ariana and Frankie's mom, Joan Grande.
Marjorie, who met her husband, Frank Grande, at just 11 years old, was a cherished part of the family, and her passing marks the end of a deeply meaningful chapter for the Grandes.
Ariana Grande Shares Her Grandmother's Obituary On Instagram

The news was shared by Ariana's mother, who posted a heartfelt message on her Instagram Stories that the singer later reposted.
"We are devastated to share that the beloved matriarch of our family has passed away," the obituary read. "Marjorie (Nonna) Grande passed peacefully in her home and was surrounded by her family and loved ones for every moment of her last few weeks."
The post ended with gratitude for the public's support: "We thank you for your love, support, and for respecting our privacy as we grieve and celebrate her beautiful, extraordinary life."
Ariana followed with her own quiet tribute, posting a black-and-white photo of her grandparents on their wedding day, captioned "forever."
Her brother, Frankie, also honored their grandmother with an emotional message on social media. He thanked Marjorie for teaching him life's most meaningful lessons, in a lengthy caption that partly read:
"You taught me how to love without conditions, how to dominate a three-card poker table… how to not give a single f-ck about what anyone thinks, and most importantly, how to show up for family in a way so deep, so unwavering. You always called me the apple of your eye, Nonna, and you have always been mine. My heart is shattered, but I feel you watching over me."

Following the announcement that the family matriarch had passed away, messages of support poured in. Singer Victoria Monét responded with a string of meaningful emojis, prayer hands, a dove, and the word "forever," while Katy Perry kept it short and sweet, writing, "Love you."
Fans were equally emotional. One shared, "My deepest condolences to you & your family, Ariana. Nonna will be remembered forever." Another wrote, "She is eternal through you," while a third simply added, "Ug,h I'm so sorry, girl. Sending you love."
Others chimed in with messages like "Rest in peace, Nonna of us all," and "Wrapping you, Frankie, and all the family in my warmest thoughts and hugs. What a gift, what light … Miss Nonna."
Inside The Actress' Bond With Nonna

Ariana has never shied away from expressing her love for her grandmother, revealing the depth of their bond. In a 2012 YouTube video, Ariana shared that Marjorie told the story of how she met her husband, Frank Grande. She was 11 and had just moved across the street from him.
He was recovering from surgery and was in a wheelchair. What started as small hellos turned into something more once she moved away at age 14. Years later, they married and had two daughters, Judy and Joan. Joan, of course, went on to have Frankie and Ariana.
Nonna was not just family; she was Ariana's biggest supporter. She joined her at award shows, made surprise appearances, and even got matching tattoos. In 2018, at 93 years old, she inked "ciccio" on her ring finger to honor her late husband, with Ariana right beside her.
Her influence even reached Ariana's music. On "Eternal Sunshine," the only guest feature belongs to Marjorie, who answered Ariana's vulnerable question, "How can I tell if I'm in the right relationship?" on the album's final track.
Ariana To Star In 'Meet The Parents 4'

Ariana's grandmother's passing comes at a pivotal moment as she continues to cement her place in Hollywood. Following her role in "Wicked," she may have landed another acting gig, and this time, it is not a musical.
In May, The Blast highlighted that the 31-year-old had been cast in Universal's "Meet the Parents 4," set to star alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.
Ariana earned critical acclaim and an Oscar nomination for her performance in "Wicked," a blockbuster that raked in over $700 million worldwide and swept multiple awards, including two Academy Awards and top honors from the National Board of Review.
Her new role shows that she is serious about expanding beyond singing and musicals. Even in the midst of grief, Ariana is stepping into a new chapter of her career.
Ariana Grande And Cynthia Erivo Set To Return For 'Wicked'Sequel

Although Ariana might have a new role to look forward to, fans will not have to say goodbye to Glinda just yet. After the massive success of "Wicked: Part One," Universal confirmed that the second and final installment, "Wicked: For Good," will hit theaters on November 21, 2025.
The film will reunite Ariana and Cynthia as Glinda and Elphaba in what is expected to be a powerful conclusion to the two-part adaptation of the hit Broadway musical.
But "Wicked"is not the only thing Ariana has in the works. While walking the Golden Globes red carpet earlier this year, the pop star hinted at a new music project tied to her seventh album, "Eternal Sunshine."
Though she kept details vague, she shared, "It's not something I'm thinking about right now, but, you know, there's something I made last year that will come out eventually. It's an attachment of 'Eternal Sunshine.' So, that does exist, and that will be coming out at some point."
