R. Kelly's pardon plea balloon shows up with new bubbles.
Calls for the court to ignore the singer's agitation for freedom are on the rise as a case of one of his alleged missing victims comes to the fore.
R. Kelly was convicted of racketeering and sex trafficking by a New York federal court in 2021. He was found guilty of child pornography and inducing minors into sex in Illinois Chicago the following year.
R. Kelly's Alleged Victim's Family Claims She Still Reveres Him

One of the singer's alleged victims, Joycelyn Savage, according to her family attorney, has been incommunicado for about 6 years now, and this is now being used as a case to block Kelly's call for clemency.
According to Gerald Griggs, who is the family's attorney, Savage is still under Kelly's control and has not found a way to free herself. The lawyer claimed that the last time they heard from Savage was during a brief phone call in 2019.
Savage's family admitted that they have only been able to communicate with her reps, although they cannot confirm in what capacity. Savage and the singer were romantically involved and even got engaged, explaining their close bond and the possibility of his sustained influence on her life.
According to TMZ, Savage's family also praised the court for serving justice to Kelly, noting that he deserved to be punished for his crimes for each day of his 31-year sentence.
The Singer's Reps Are Less Concerned About The Savage Family

While accounts from the Savage family seemed convincing, reactions from Kelly's camp are in direct contrast to the reports on ground. His lawyer, Beau Brindley, revealed that they had no intention to discuss Savage at the moment because it was a mere distraction from their agenda to free R. Kelly.
Brindley had previously expressed hope that his client would receive a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, given the president's generous mood, which had led to Todd and Julie Chrisley being released from prison.
In Chicago, Kelly was found guilty of six out of 13 counts of child sexual abuse in a second federal trial in 2022.
The Songwriter Cited Murder Attempt In New Freedom Quest

The Blast shared yesterday that the singer was hurriedly rushed to the hospital following an overdose incident. According to his lawyers, this latest medical emergency is a result of the conduct of prison officials.
His attorney added that the prison attendants who were directed to give him his medication overdosed him in bad faith. In the paper filed on June 17, the legal team argued that the act occurred on June 12 when he was in solitary confinement.
It was reportedly during this period that the performer was able to obtain drugs to address his anxiety and sleeplessness. Nevertheless, an overdose of the pills landed him in a severe medical emergency on Friday, June 13.
The prison official's role is not the only thing the singer's lawyers further observed. They made it clear that their client was also forced to vacate the Duke University Hospital premises in North Carolina against the doctors' wishes.
The Federal Correctional Institute Facility in Butner, North Carolina, is the current home of the singer, who is serving time for charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking.
The 58-Year-Old Claimed Threats On His Life In Pardon Pleas To Donald Trump

The songwriter and his legal team have been proactive recently about getting him to taste the sweet feeling of freedom. His lawyers got on top of it, trying their best shot at imploring the president to spare Kelly's life by giving him a presidential pardon.
Brindley stressed the urgency of the request, pointing out the fact that his client's chances of living depended on the timing of the pardon.
Combined with his allegation that some prison officers were conspiring to kill him, Kelly felt that the presidency would come to his rescue by pardoning him or sending him to serve out his sentence in his home rather than the holding facility.
Brindley emphasized that only Trump could save his client, and an immediate intervention would save the precarious situation. He further said that there were parties that were not happy with his emergency motion; hence, he was to be punished with threats of harm and likely death to his person.
R. Kelly's Daughter Accused Of Sexual Harassment Last Year

The singer's actions were allegedly not limited to outsiders. His case became even more dire last year when his daughter Buku Abi, born Joann Kelly, leveled serious accusations against him. She is among the three children welcomed by Andrea Kelly with the convicted singer before their divorce.
In a report by The Blast, Abi narrated the gory details of the childhood torture she supposedly experienced at the hands of her father in a documentary titled "R. Kelly's Karma: A Daughter's Journey."
Buku spoke about the purported exploitation, adding that the incident occurred when she was 8 or 9 years old. But she never told her mother until 2009. She recalled vaguely remembering her dad touching her right after she woke up.
"And I didn't know what to do, so I just kind of laid there, and I pretended to be asleep," Abi noted. When Abi eventually confessed to Andrea of the claimed event, she remembered that they had gone to the police and made a complaint as a Jane Doe.
However, they could not prosecute the singer because they had waited too long to make an official report.
Will these new developments hurt R. Kelly's chance at a pardon or freedom from prison?
