Since making its debut in Las Vegas in 2019, "Potted Potter" has won over fans of all ages with a hilarious take on the wizard world. All seven Harry Potter books are covered during the 70-minute show that includes parodies, props, and a live Quidditch match.

And did we mention the whole show is delivered by just two performers? James Edward-Kelly and Toby Holloway run the show, delighting Muggles and anyone who loves a good magical moment.

The two performers had time to sit down with The Blast to share some more insight into the show that's celebrating six years of success in Las Vegas.

'Delightful Insanity From Start To Finish'

When asked if he ever imagined the show would take off the way it has and continue to entertain audiences in Las Vegas six years later, Edward-Kelly said he actually "never imagined myself in Las Vegas to be honest."

"It's funny how life can throw opportunities at you. Six years is simply incredible," he told The Blast exclusively. "We definitely can't do it alone. We have an amazing Stage Manager and crew, and of course, the fans. I think, because there is such a love for Harry Potter, myself included, everyone loves a polite set up of their favorite franchise."

Edward-Kelly said the show is "delightful insanity from start to finish" and that all seven Harry Potter books are covered during the 70-minute show.

"So, 'Potted' in England means condensed/abridged, so as I am the Harry Potter expert, I play the boy wizard himself whilst Toby plays everybody else (because...comedy) so humanity ensues," he explained. "We have a dragon, magic, and a live game of Quidditch."

Each 'Potted Potter' Show Is A Bit Different

Each show is slightly different than the last depending on what's going on in the news and how the audience is responding to it all.

"I remember when we were all coming back after 2020, we had a very different and tamer version of Quidditch for the audience," Edward-Kelly said. "But it's now a high-octane adrenaline pumping sport we all know and love, but in an intimate showroom."

He added, "It's one of the most fun, family-friend shows on the Strip. Come dressed in your robes and wave your wands. Unforgiveable curses on the performers are strictly discouraged though."

You Don't Need To Be A Harry Potter Fan To Enjoy 'Potted Potter'

For people wondering if they need to know the ins and outs of all the Harry Potter books to enjoy this show, Holloway said, "absolutely not."

"We get converts at pretty much every show. Husbands, partners, parents who have no idea what Harry Potter is and they come and tell us how much fun they had after the show," he shared. "The show is of course packed with inside jokes for the Potter heads but there is plenty for casual theater goers to enjoy."

The biggest challenge of the show is cramming all seven books into just 70 minutes, but they get the job done with tons of laughs. And sometimes, breaking character happens, but it just adds to the hilarity of the show.

"I suppose the biggest challenge is keeping each book as its own distinct comedy sketch whilst still being able to get the plot across to the audience in a way that's brief, succinct, and most importantly, funny," Holloway said. "I particularly love when audience members come out with something so unexpected that it makes me break character. This is one of those shows where character breaking moments actually enrich the experience for the audience. It makes every show different and unique for that crowd."
