Meghan Markle has broken her silence on her viral dance moment, letting fans know why she chose to share such an intimate moment.

Earlier this month, the Duchess of Sussex broke the internet with a throwback clip of her twerking in the labor room while awaiting the delivery of her second child, Lilibet.

The upload has since received criticism from the likes of Megyn Kelly and her half-sister, Samantha Markle. However, Meghan insists the viral moment is only a reflection of the "real" life she lives with Prince Harry.

Meghan addressed her post during an appearance on the "Aspire podcast" hosted by Emma Grede.

"You have to be authentic," the duchess declared in a preview clip of the episode before asking Grede, "Did you see my 'Baby Momma' dance?"

The host enthusiastically replied, saying she watched the video "maybe like 20 times." Grede showered praises, describing the clip as an opportunity for the world to see the duchess in a way that they hadn't seen her before.

She told Meghan that she performed a "secret cheer" while encouraging her to share more moments like that. "Like, I want to see that happiness and that honesty and that 'I don't give a f–ck' kind of thing," Grede urged.

The Duchess of Sussex was, however, quick to clarify that the video was from when she was pregnant with her daughter in 2021. She explained:

"That was four years ago. So it's also a really great reminder that, with all the noise or whatever people do, there's still a whole life. A real, authentic, fun life that's happening behind the scenes."

Concluding the segment, Meghan expressed gratitude about returning to social media. "I have a place where I can share it on my own terms," she gushed.

The Duchess Shared The Video For Lilibet's Birthday

The video in question was shared on June 4 in celebration of Lilibet's fourth birthday. After posting never-before-seen photos of the celebrant, Meghan took things up a notch with the surprising clip.

The upload showed her in the delivery room, dancing to induce labour. The former actress was seen dressed in a black maternity gown, breaking out moves to Starrkeisha's viral "Baby Mama" track.

At first, Meghan was dancing alone, but Prince Harry, dressed in a grey hoodie and jeans, came onto the scene, breaking out moves of his own.

The estranged royals seemed thrilled as they both dropped it low until the clip cut. "Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… So when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work, there was only one thing left to do," the accompanying caption read.

Meghan Markle 'Doesn't Care' About The Haters

Before breaking her silence, close sources to the "Suits" star revealed that she wasn't bothered by the criticism from the other side of the pond.

As The Blast reported, Meghan was instead focused on the positive response from Americans, feeling "very pleased."

The source explained, "In the UK, everyone's reaction has been a bit prudish, but everywhere else, particularly in America and especially with young people, it has been a huge hit."

The insider continued, "She and her team count it [the video] as a 'win,' which can only boost sales. Her new products are marketed to Americans rather than the UK market."

As for those who described the post as "vulgar," the informant noted that "Meghan doesn't care about the haters in Britain."

Among those who notoriously had a problem with the duchess was conservative journalist Megyn Kelly.

On her podcast, "The Megyn Kelly Show," the commentator harshly criticized Meghan, accusing her of seeking public approval with the "deeply problematic" video.

"We don't like you, and no amount of posting videos that you think are going to humanize you will make us like you. You've already shown us your true colors," she slammed.

Kelly continued, explaining that she believes the video was too intimate to be shared with the public. She called it "disrespectful to the moment, to the child and, truly, to the sanctity of what goes on for any humans who are actually in that situation."

Kelly wasn't the only public voice that opposed the video. Even Meghan's half-sister, Samantha Markle, had a bone to pick with it.

She claimed the Instagram post was a failed PR move by the Sussexes to repair their reputation. Tearing apart her estranged sibling, Samantha wrote:

"And that's gross. Dancing like that in positions like that would not be for public display even if she was carelessly doing it. Just kind of tacky."

She further berated the video, calling it "pregnancy p-rn," before throwing out accusations of a fake pregnancy.
