Travis Kelce Allegedly Drops Jaw-Dropping Weight Ahead Of Chiefs Camp
By Kelly Coffey-Behrens on June 16, 2025 at 6:30 PM EDT

Travis Kelce is coming back leaner, lighter, and laser-focused.
The Kansas City Chiefs star has reportedly lost a jaw-dropping 25 pounds during the offseason in preparation for the 2025-26 NFL season, and it's all part of what insiders believe could be his "last dance."
Travis Kelce opted out of the Chiefs' recent voluntary organized team activities (OTAs), but he is expected to report to mandatory minicamp from June 17 to June 19, where he'll address the media and hit the practice field with his teammates.
Travis Kelce Drops 25 Pounds After 'Dad Bod' Backlash

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler broke the news on SportsCenter Saturday, revealing that Kelce has vowed to return with a "bit of a slimmer look" after taking heat last season for what some critics labeled a "dad bod."
"He's told people close to him that he's lost about 25 pounds this offseason," Fowler said, adding that the tight end "played a little bit heavier" last season but made a promise to change that, and followed through.
Fowler also pointed out that Kelce's slimmer physique is part of a larger effort to stay productive as he nears the twilight of his NFL career. "This could be the last dance here for him," he said, noting that while Kelce remains a key third-down target, he has seen "a bit of decline" in production.
The tight end previously opened up about his fluctuating weight on a March 2024 episode of his "New Heights" podcast with brother Jason Kelce, revealing that they were in the "same weight class," with Jason tipping the scales around 280 pounds.
While the comment was made in jest, it fueled online chatter about Travis' physique and may have contributed to his offseason transformation.
Fans Weigh In On His 25-Pound Weight Loss

Despite a relatively underwhelming 2024 season by his own standards, Travis Kelce still ranked fifth among tight ends with 823 receiving yards, though it marked his lowest total since his breakout year in 2014. Critics pointed to his age, his added weight, and a Kansas City wide receiver corps that allowed defenses to zero in on him.
Fans have been quick to react to news of the transformation, and many are hopeful the new physique will reignite the future Hall of Famer's performance.
"For a 35-year-old TE, losing 25 lbs will be huge as the season goes on," one fan commented on Arrowhead Pride's article.
"Yes, the lost weight will improve his speed and explosiveness, which will help get him back comfortably above 1k yards," another chimed in.
"He needs to block better. Maybe being lighter will help him move," a third predicted.
Fans Crunch The Numbers On Travis Kelce's Slimdown

Others took a more analytical view of the numbers.
"I don't know what Kelce's weight was the last couple of years, but in 2024, he definitely looked heavier and slower," one fan noted. "His listed weight is 250, but last season he looked at least 10 lbs. over that, maybe 15. So, assuming he played at 260 last year, losing 25 lbs. puts him at 235. If he's followed a stricter regime, he's also likely healthier and leaner. I'll be interested to see how 2025 goes for him."
Another added, "The lost weight [should] improve his speed and explosiveness, which will help get him back comfortably above 1k yards."
'Big Yeti' No More?

The weight loss revelation comes weeks after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, famously nicknamed "Big Yeti," lived up to the title as he was spotted shirtless after an intense NFL training session.
In photos obtained by Page Six, Travis Kelce was seen peeling off his sweat-soaked black T-shirt and using a gray towel to dry off outside a black SUV, showing off his trademark chest and back hair in the process. Wearing only black Nike Jordan athletic shorts, Kelce looked every bit the part of a seasoned NFL veteran preparing for another grueling season.
Travis Kelce removed his black baseball cap, revealing damp hair from the Florida heat, and appeared visibly winded from the session.
Travis Kelce Trains With Pals In Florida

The three-time Super Bowl champion wasn't training alone. He was joined by longtime pals Kumar Ferguson and former NFL player Ross Travis, both of whom also seemed to break a serious sweat during the workout.
Travis Kelce eventually climbed into the SUV shirtless, still cooling down with his towel in hand.
Sources say Kelce has been spending the offseason training in Florida, where he's reportedly residing in a jaw-dropping $20 million mansion in Boca Raton's exclusive Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club.
Now, with a trimmer build and renewed motivation, Kelce appears ready to silence the doubters. Whether this is truly his final season or just another chapter in a storied career, Travis Kelce is not going out quietly.
