Cher is at the center of a heartbreaking and explosive family crisis as her son, Elijah Blue Allman, battles a reported relapse and hospitalization, with insiders revealing a deepening rift between the pop icon and Elijah’s estranged wife, Marieangela “Queenie” King.
According to sources close to the situation, the tension between Cher and King has reached new heights in the wake of Elijah’s most recent health scare.
Cher Blames Estranged Daughter-In-Law After Son Elijah’s Overdose Sparks Family Feud

The 48-year-old musician, who has long struggled with addiction, was rushed to the hospital in Joshua Tree, California, after allegedly overdosing this weekend.
Although he is now said to be receiving top-tier medical care, the situation has reignited a bitter and years-long feud between Cher and King, one that has reportedly caused deep division within the family.
“Cher is already blaming Marieangela, like she always does when things go wrong,” an insider alleged when speaking to Daily Mail. “She never takes responsibility.”
Inside The Decade-Long Feud

Their feud reportedly dates back to 2013, when Elijah and King became engaged.
Cher, according to insiders, refused to offer her blessing and allegedly took steps to sabotage the relationship, including sending Elijah to a treatment facility in Mexico without King’s knowledge. “He was in terrible shape, and it was Marieangela who had to fly down to save him,” the insider said.
In a 2014 interview with Daily Mail, Elijah addressed the tension, describing both women as “strong” and saying they often “butt heads.”
"You've got two strong women, two big bulls in the pen," Elijah said at the time. "I think there's a respect and I think they butt heads a little bit."
Sources say the animosity only worsened following the Mexico incident and Cher’s attempts at conservatorship, with long-standing disputes brewing over control of Elijah’s trust fund.
Cher’s Failed Conservatorship Bid Over Son Elijah Resurfaces Amid Renewed Tensions

Cher and Elijah’s strained relationship has been well-documented.
In 2023, the Oscar-winning singer and actress attempted to place her son under a conservatorship, claiming he was unfit to manage his finances due to “severe mental health and substance abuse issues.”
That request was ultimately withdrawn in September 2024, following public and legal opposition from King, who had remained by her husband's side throughout the ordeal.
Estranged Wife Accused Of Sabotaging Elijah’s Recovery Efforts

As part of her legal battle to obtain a conservatorship over Elijah Blue Allman, Cher didn’t hold back in her criticism of his estranged wife, Marieangela “Queenie” King.
In court documents, the music icon alleged that King had not only failed to support Elijah’s recovery but had also actively interfered with his efforts to get clean.
Cher claimed King “actively works to keep Elijah from getting clean and sober or receiving mental health treatment that he desperately needs.” She pointed to their volatile relationship as further proof that King was unfit to take on any legal role in his care.
“She is not entitled to appointment as conservator of Elijah’s estate,” Cher argued, warning that giving King control would be “unsafe for Elijah and his estate.” The singer went so far as to say it “would result in the immediate loss or dissipation of Elijah’s assets for self-destructive purposes.”
Elijah Blue Allman’s Estranged Wife ‘Never Stopped Supporting Him’ Despite Divorce

Despite their rocky marriage, King filed for divorce from Elijah in April 2025, citing irreconcilable differences and seeking spousal support and exclusive use of their shared vehicle.
But those close to the couple say she never stopped supporting him, even when others turned away.
“The people who truly cared, especially Marieangela, were pushed out,” one insider shared. “And when things got bad again, he had no one left to turn to.”
Elijah Blue Allman Says Heroin ‘Saved’ Him

Elijah’s struggles with addiction began early.
In past interviews, he admitted to experimenting with drugs at the age of 11, eventually turning to heroin and opioids to cope with past traumas. He once described heroin as something that “saved” him during dark times, saying, “You may jump off a bridge. If you can only just go through that time period and live through it and then get help.”
"I [was] just looking to escape all the things in my past and, that's when you turn to those kind of drugs, you know heroin and opiates," he told ET at the time. "[Heroin] kind of saved me… If I didn't have that at that point, I don't know what I would have done."
Now, as he fights for recovery once again, those closest to the family say the drama between Cher and King threatens to overshadow the real issue, Elijah’s wellbeing. “It’s heartbreaking,” the insider added. “He’s still battling his demons, and the people around him are at war.”
