King Charles' nostalgic Father's Day tribute has quickly turned into a public plea for peace.

The post was flooded with comments urging the King to reconnect with his estranged son, Prince Harry. The calls for reconciliation come amid widespread praise for Harry's powerful speech at Germany's first-ever Veterans Day, capping off what has been a tough year for the Duke.

The long-standing rift between King Charles and his youngest son, Prince Harry, has remained unresolved since the Duke and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped away from royal duties in 2020 and settled in California.

King Charles' Father's Day Post Did Not Include His Sons

King Charles marked Father's Day on June 15 with a sentimental post, but the focus quickly shifted to family tension. The royal Instagram account he shares with Queen Camilla posted a black-and-white photo of a young Charles and Princess Anne being pushed on a swing by their late father, Prince Philip.

The post also included a photo of Queen Camilla with her father, Major Bruce Shand. The caption read simply, "To all Dads everywhere, we wish you a happy Father's Day today."

Despite the nostalgic post, many were not feeling the warmth. The comment section quickly filled with messages urging the King to reach out to his estranged son, Prince Harry.

What began as a simple Father's Day message from King Charles turned into another round of public calls for him to mend things with his son. More fans flooded the comments, many pointing out what was missing.

"This is a sad post indeed. No post of King Charles with both his sons? Both are fathers as well," one person wrote.

Another added, "Dads don't abandon their children. No matter what." Others were even more direct, "Harry is hurting. Be a real man and see your son!" Some also questioned why there was no photo of Prince William and his family.

Nevertheless, the push for reconciliation is not just coming from the public. Harry himself recently admitted he wants to fix things. In a past interview, Harry said he wanted reconciliation but claimed that his father "won't speak to me."

His comments came after a judge dismissed his legal attempt to reinstate his security protection. "I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has," Harry said in the interview.

Earlier this month, The Blast reported that insiders close to the palace said the Queen Consort deliberately kept her distance, especially after facing harsh criticism in Harry's memoir "Spare."

In the book, the 40-year-old portrayed Camilla as "dangerous" and labeled her "the villain," accusing her of leaking stories to the press to boost her public image.

Tensions escalated further after Harry gave an interview, where his comments reportedly did more damage to his relationship with his father.

Although the interview may not have been intended as an attack, royal commentator Valentine Low said it likely came across that way, making reconciliation more difficult.

Royal experts pointed out that the family's mistrust had only deepened. Catherine Mayer, author of "Charles: The Heart of a King," added, "If you have that level of breach in a family, and you are estranged, you run that risk every day of having something unfathomable to deal with."

Royal Expert Said Prince Harry's Public Outbursts Hurt His Chances Of Reconciliation

Harry's chances of healing the rift with his royal relatives may have taken a major hit, a royal commentator claimed, pointing to the Duke's continued decision to speak out publicly instead of keeping things private.

Royal expert Joe Little criticized Harry's appearances and remarks, stating that if he truly wanted to reconcile with his father and brother, Prince William, and the rest of the royal family, he should have stayed silent.

In his own words, "I think for somebody who is seeking reconciliation with his father, his brother, and his family, his royal family as a whole, I think the very last thing that he should have been doing was talking publicly."

He added that there is still "a great deal to be gained by maintaining a dignified silence," but pointed out that Harry does not seem to have taken that path.

"Maybe lessons just haven't been learned from previous occasions where also silence would have been the very best thing to maintain," Little concluded.

While tensions with his family remained unresolved, Prince Harry stepped into the spotlight with a speech that earned him widespread praise during Germany's first-ever Veterans' Day.

The father-of-two addressed the event via video at the invitation of Germany's defense minister, taking a moment to honor the strength and sacrifices of former service members.

Reflecting on the warmth he experienced during the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Harry applauded the German people for their support, calling it "truly humbling" and praising them for delivering "a home for respect."

The prince spoke on the universal bond among veterans, emphasizing their shared values and resilience. Harry reminded listeners that the day was about celebrating those who served and the weight they carry even after battle, urging all to recommit to the values of peace, dignity, and democracy.

He ended the address with a message in German, telling the audience, "Vielen dank und einen schönen tag," which means in English, "thank you very much and have a nice day."

Whether King Charles responds or not, the public and Prince Harry himself have made it clear they are hoping for peace.
