Kevin Costner’s thoughts about retirement come amid an ongoing sexual lawsuit involving a stunt performer for the second installment of his film “Horizon: An American Saga.”

Recently, the movie star made the headlines when reports revealed that Devyn LaBella filed a lawsuit against him.

In the court papers obtained by PEOPLE, LaBella alleged that back in May 2023, Costner subjected her to an unscripted rape scene while on set.

LaBella claimed she never consented to the scene, and the absence of an intimacy coordinator seemingly heightened the “permanent trauma” she experienced.

LaBella revealed that the contract of Ella Hunt, the actress she stood in for, required a “coordinator for all intimacy scenes.”

However, weeks into filming, she was told to stand in for the actress during a "scripted, aggressive and intimate rape scene" due to its "physical nature."

The stunt performer shared that she was shocked the next day, Kevin Costner allegedly added a scene involving a second actor, Roger Ivens.

According to LaBella, Ivens was meant to “climb on top of Ms Hunt, violently raking up her skirt.”

However, Hunt refused to do the scene, forcing Costner to ask LaBella to step in without proper measures or consent.

Although she was the actress's stunt double, the stunt performer said the scene wasn’t in the scope of her role.

In the end, LaBella recalled experiencing reminders of “shame, humiliation, and complete lack of control.”
