It looks like “Ice Cream” singer Selena Gomez is branching out with a partnership for another sweet treat.
The “Love You Like A Love Song” singer recently partnered with the OREO cookie brand in order to develop her own limited edition cookie for the summer.
Selena Gomez Teases A Sweet and Spicy New OREO Flavor

The OREO brand has come up with a lot of creative limited edition flavors over the years, but the “New Classic” singer’s new flavor might just prove to be a new fan-favorite. The new sweet and spicy cookies are based on the singer’s love of horchata, creating a chocolate confection with a twist.
The new limited edition cookies include a layer of chocolate and cinnamon flavor crème on top of a layer of sweetened condensed milk flavor crème that also features a hint of cinnamon sugar. The two chocolate wafers that sandwich the crème are also lightly spiced with cinnamon, creating an almost gingerbread-like chocolate cookie.
Selena Gomez Channeled Childhood Nostalgia For Her Cookie Combo

In a press release obtained by The Blast, the “Kill Em With Kindness” singer explained that the horchata flavor came from the spiced non-alcoholic drink that she enjoyed as a child, which is typically created from rice, water, cinnamon, sugar, and a dash of vanilla in Mexico. In Spain, the drink was originally made with tiger nuts, also called chufa.
"Making my own OREO cookie was a lot of fun. I grew up loving them, so being able to be a part of the process was a full-circle moment,” she said in a statement. "I wanted to find a way for it to feel comforting and have a bit of nostalgia from my childhood. The cinnamon flavor gives it this horchata feel, and I'm excited for my fans to try it."
There Are Several Different Prints Available On Each Cookie

In addition to the unique flavor, OREO has also created six different embossments for fans to enjoy. She even included a cookie decoration that spells out “Selenators,” which are what her fans call themselves, in a special tribute to their support over her years in the industry.
According to the press release, there is also one exclusive cookie found in approximately every three packs that features her classic signature. Although this is not the first time OREO has made embellishments to their cookie shape, it is the first time that the OREO brand has used an autograph on a cookie.
Gluten-Free Customers Will Be Disappointed With This New Offering

Unfortunately, most OREO cookies are made with wheat flour and are therefore not gluten-free. The Blast reached out to the brand for comment and was able to confirm that not only are these limited edition cookies not gluten-free, but there are no plans to release a gluten-free variety in the future.
This is disappointing to gluten-free fans looking to try out the new flavor, but there is hope that a limited edition cookie flavor might be available down the line. Currently, OREO has released their traditional sandwich cookies, their golden sandwich cookies, and their mint sandwich cookies, in gluten-free form, swapping out wheat flour for a blend of gluten-free flours that include white rice flour and oat flour.
Selena Gomez Used The Collaboration To ‘Engage’ With Her Fans

In a conversation with PEOPLEmagazine, the “Only Murders In The Building” star explained that she decided to partner with OREO to create a new cookie to “engage” with her fans and have some fun in the process.
“I am selective when deciding to partner with brands because it always needs to be something authentic to me,” she explained. “Like most people, I’ve loved Oreo cookies for as long as I can remember, and so when I was approached to collaborate on my own flavor, it was something I couldn’t say no to doing.”
She went on to say that it was a new way to “engage with [her] fans” in a way that “felt different from anything [she’d] done in the past.” She wanted to share the “very personal” flavor with her followers, adding, “Even if you’ve never had horchata, it was my goal to ignite a sense of familiarity when someone takes a bite.”
Selena Gomez Has A Tip For How To Best Enjoy Her OREO Cookie

“Growing up, horchata was one of those comforting things for me," she continued. "Some of my favorite childhood memories involve drinking horchata with my family — it was one of my favorite drinks. I really wanted to bottle up that memory and share it through this cookie."
She also had a special tip for her followers, advising her fans to make sure to dunk their cookies before consuming. “And trust me, it tastes even better dipped in milk,” she added. “That really brings all the flavors together.”
The cookies are now available for purchase in select locations and are selling out quickly online.
