Las Vegas Aces Shock Dallas Wings With Fourth-Quarter Comeback

Despite missing star player A'ja Wilson, the Las Vegas Aces pulled off a stunning comeback victory over the Dallas Wings in the final minutes of an intense showdown Friday night in Las Vegas.
Down for most of the game, the Aces ignited clutch mode in the fourth quarter with just minutes left in the game. The late-game surge proved to the home crowd that Vegas remains a dominant force in the WNBA, even when their MVP is out. While the Wings fought hard the entire game, they fell short in the final minutes of the electrifying game.
Friday Night Excitement As Aces Win Over The Wings In Fourth-Quarter Showdown

It was a tough few minutes at the end of the fourth quarter.
With less than 4 minutes left on the clock and the Aces down 11 points, many Aces fans gave up hope and headed toward the door. But what happened after they left was as magical as Las Vegas itself.
With 28.3 seconds left, Aces star Jewell Loyd made a 3-pointer that had fans cheering louder than ever. The Aces beat the Wings 88-84, and it all came down to those last few tense minutes.
Loyd recorded the team's first 8 points and had 16 points by halftime. Not scoring at all in the third quarter, she came back with the final 3-pointer and two free throws in the fourth quarter.
Aces Star A'ja Wilson Was Ruled Out Friday Night For Concussion Protocol

During the third quarter of the Aces last game, on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Sparks, Aces star player A'ja Wilson sustained an injury and didn't return to the game.
She was ruled out of Friday night's game a few hours before tipoff and is in concussion protocol. While fans didn't see her on the sideline, she was in the building supporting her team! It was revealed that she was in a private suite with her boyfriend, Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo, watching the game in an oversized hoodie and sunglasses.
No word yet on when she will be returning to the court with her team.
No. 1 Overall WNBA Draft Pick Paige Bueckers Grabbed Tons Of Attention

Fans were excited to see rookie Paige Bueckers at Michelob ULTRA Arena Friday night ahead of the Aces vs. Wings game. She greeted fans who were eager to grab her attention, signed some things, and took pics with fans of all ages.
Through her first eight games of the season, the former UConn star averaged 17.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.9 steals per game.
The No. 1 overall 2025 draft pick had a tough game Friday night, ending with 16 points, five assists, and two rebounds.
This loss for the Wings marked the fifth loss in the WNBA Commissioner's Cup, previously falling short to the Minnesota Lynx, Seattle Storm, Phoenix Mercury, and Los Angeles Sparks.

WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes was in the house Friday night for the action-packed game.
Swoopes, a trailblazing icon in women's basketball, is known for her dominance on the court and impact on and off the court. She became the first player signed to the WNBA and helped to launch the league's legacy.
The WNBA star won four straight championships with the Houston Comets and earned three MVP awards. Swoopes was the first player in WNBA history to record a triple-double, is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, and the first woman to have a signature Nike shoe.
When the Aces announced her, she was met with tons of excitement and applause.

The Aces next game is Sunday, June 15, and is "Kids Day at the House" at Michelob ULTRA Arena inside Mandalay Bay on the Las Vegas Strip. The Aces will face the Phoenix Mercury.
Presented by Discovery Children's Museum and Aces Academy, the first 7,500 fans in attendance will receive a Buckets (Aces' mascot) Squish.
Then next up: Tuesday is another Commissioner's Cup game for the Aces; this time against Minnesota Lynx in Minnesota.
