Ryan Murphy Attacked By Kennedy Heir For 'American Love Story' First Look

Ryan Murphy is pulling back the curtain on his next big anthology series, "American Love Story," and the first look already has people talking.

The "American Horror Story" and "Feud" creator shared a sneak peek at the upcoming FX/Hulu series on Friday via his Ryan Murphy Productions Instagram account.

Ryan Murphy's newest project centers around the whirlwind and widely publicized romance between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, and is slated to premiere on Valentine’s Day week in 2026.

Paul Kelly will portray JFK Jr., while "The Wilds" star Sarah Pidgeon takes on the role of Bessette.

Murphy posted several behind-the-scenes photos and camera test stills of the two in character, announcing, “We started shooting this week in New York City and can't wait until you see the romantic and tragic love story between America’s prince, JFK Jr., and fashion icon Carolyn Bessette.”

Murphy also praised the casting process, noting the intense competition for the iconic roles. “Over a thousand actors auditioned for each of these roles, and we absolutely found the perfect choices. Congratulations Sarah and Paul!” he wrote.

In the first-look images, Pidgeon channels Bessette’s signature minimalist style, donning a sleek black turtleneck, tailored trousers, a tan coat, and black pumps. Her platinum blonde hair cascades past her shoulders, evoking the timeless elegance that made Bessette a Calvin Klein fashion darling in the 1990s.

The post quickly attracted fan comments, including one from a very familiar name.

JFK Jr.’s nephew, Jack Schlossberg, left a pointed remark under the carousel, “HEY RYAN, admiration for John is great, but maybe consider DONATING PROFITS TO THE KENNEDY LIBRARY, thanks.”

It’s unclear why Schlossberg chose to publicly go after Murphy in such a bold tone, but the comment definitely struck a chord.
