Donald Trump may be R. Kelly's last hope in regaining his freedom; at least, that may be how the imprisoned singer sees it.
The disgraced R&B singer, through his attorney, recently pleaded with the president to save his life. The media personality who is serving a 30-year combined sentence claimed he wasn't safe in federal prison.
R. Kelly has been locked up at a federal penitentiary in North Carolina following his guilty verdict on scathing charges, including child sexual abuse. However, he claims prison officials are trying to end his life.
R. Kelly Begs Donald Trump For Home Confinement

According to Kelly's attorney, Beau B. Brindley, the former singer's case was dire as he could lose his life behind bars. The legal rep filed an emergency motion on behalf of his client this week, alleging that three officials with the Bureau of Prisons tried to kill him.
On that note, Kelly hoped Trump would come to his aid by granting him clemency or transferring him from federal prison to home confinement. "We are in open discussions with people close to President Trump. And those discussions have expanded and intensified since we filed our motion," Brindley claimed.
The attorney told PEOPLE that they believed Trump was "the only person with the courage to help" Kelly. Brindley added that timely intervention was needed to save his client from the clutches of those who aimed to harm him, alleging that he was being punished for filing the emergency motion.
The Disgraced Singer Allegedly Thrown Into Solitary Confinement

Brindley claimed that after the legal filing of allegations of the murder plot went public, prison officials retaliated by throwing Kelly into solitary confinement. He stressed that the conditions of the cell were inhumane, saying:
"[Kelly] cannot make phone calls to his family. He has no access to commissary. He has spiders crawling over him while he tries to sleep."
Brindley added that Kelly's woes did not stop there, as he could not eat any food made at the prison because he feared they could be poisoned. The legal rep suspected that his client would only face harsher treatment unless the president stepped in to stop the alleged threats against his life.
Inside The Alleged Murder Plot Against Kelly

According to Variety, Kelly's legal team filed an emergency motion on Tuesday, June 10, pleading for his immediate release from federal prison to home confinement over a murder scheme.
The documents contained a declaration from Mikeal Glenn Stine, an inmate, who alleged he was ordered to end Kelly's life. According to Stine, Bureau of Prisons officials tempted him to murder Kelly by offering him freedom.
As a terminally ill inmate, they noted he could spend the rest of his days outside the prison's walls if he successfully killed the former singer or orchestrated his death through his Aryan Brotherhood.
However, Stine had a change of heart and refused to carry out their alleged orders. He spilled the tea to Kelly and his legal team, who claimed the situation had grown dire.
They stated in the emergency motion that prison officials had ordered a second member of the Aryan Brotherhood to murder both Kelly and Stine.
R. Kelly's Daughter Shared Shocking Allegations Against Him

Kelly's guilty conviction and years-long sentence appeared to be the push his daughter needed to share her horrifying story. Last October, The Blast reported that Buku Abi, born Joann Kelly, came out as an alleged victim of her father's abuse.
She recounted her traumatic memories on TVEI Streaming Network's documentary "R. Kelly's Karma: A Daughter's Journey." Buku claimed the sexual harassment happened when she was 8 or 9, alleging that she woke up to find her father touching her inappropriately.
The alleged victim claimed she stayed silent about the incident until 2009, when she confessed to her mother, Andrea. Buku claimed her mom immediately took her to the police to file a report anonymously, but Kelly couldn't be prosecuted because she waited too long to accuse him.
Diddy Might Also Be On The Pardon Train

While Kelly has no past or present relationship with Trump, the same could not be said about the music mogul battling scathing sexual-related allegations. The Blast reported that the president's past friendship with Diddy resurfaced during a discussion with reporters in May.
Following his string of pardons to popular celebrities like Todd and Julie Chrisley, one reporter wanted to know if Diddy would join the clemency if found guilty of the charges against him. Trump implied they were a possibility for him to forgive his old pal as long as he met the requirements.
The POTUS noted that he would consider it if he believed Diddy was being "mistreated" being bars and if his case was worth pardoning. Trump added that he and the disgraced rapper had not spoken in years, claiming their friendship "busted up" after he got into politics.
Will Donald Trump listen to R. Kelly's cries for freedom, given the alleged plot to kill him?
