It wasn't the rematch against the Sparks that the Aces hoped for on Wednesday night in Las Vegas.
The Los Angeles Sparks stunned the Las Vegas Aces with a commanding 97–89 victory in last night’s Commissioner’s Cup showdown.
The game’s momentum shifted dramatically after Aces star A’ja Wilson exited with a head injury in the third quarter, leaving the Aces struggling to close the gap.
Los Angeles Sparks Took The Win Over Las Vegas Aces Wednesday Night

On Wednesday night, the Sparks upset the Aces 97-89 in a Commissioner's Cup game. After the tough game in Vegas, the Aces are now 4-4 this season. The Sparks improved to 4-7.
Sparks rookie Rickea Jackson delivered a breakout performance with a career-high 30 points. Azura Stevens and Dearica Hamby added a combined 38 points for the Sparks.
Aces star Jackie Young had a career-high 34 points, and Chelsea Gray added 28.
A'ja Wilson Leaves Game In Third Quarter With Injury

During the third quarter, Wilson sustained a head injury and left the game. She seemed to take a hit to the face as Sparks forward Hamby drove to the basket. She exited the game on her own and was later seen with a towel pressed to her nose. She did not return.
The Aces star had 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and four blocks in the game.
Coach Becky Hammon told reporters postgame, "I know she was bleeding and I know she couldn't come back. I think she is going to go to the doctor [Thursday] to see what's going on. I don't have anything beyond that."
Kelsey Plum Was Welcomed Back To Las Vegas By Fans Of All Ages

Plum's second time back on the Vegas court since joining the Sparks was Wednesday night and fans were happy to see her. Many brought things for her to sign ahead of the game and she seemed happy to interact with everyone.
Plum began her WNBA career with the Aces organization (then the San Antonio Stars, which relocated and rebranded as the Las Vegas Aces in 2018). She was with the Aces through the end of the 2024 season and was traded to the Sparks in early 2025.
But fans believe, "One an Ace, always an Ace," as many had signs that said just that during her first return to Michelob ULTRA Arena last week as a Sparks player.

Not only does Wilson get tons of attention on the court, so do her shoes. On Wednesday night. she debuted her new Nike A'One PE.
The new shoes definitely grabbed instant attention from anyone watching warm ups.
Wilson's first signature shoe was released last month and made her the first-ever Las Vegas Aces player and only the 12th WNBA player in history to release a signature shoe.
In a video shared on social media ahead of the shoe drop, Wilson said, "People can see the shoe in the collection and realize, it's me! But in this whole collection, it really came from the heart."
Las Vegas Aces Waived Crystal Bradford Ahead Of Wednesday Night's Game

Ahead of Wednesday night's game against the Sparks, the Aces waived forward Crystal Bradford. She played in four games this season averaging 1 point per game.
Bradford took to X after being waived to share, "The worst feeling in the world is your parents calling, asking what you do? As if you are in trouble. I had a great camp and a tremendous growth here with the Aces! They were in a different direction, and that's just what it is. Hold the narratives because I am still a great."
Not long after the announcement of Bradford being waived, the Aces announced they had signed Joyner Holmes.
The next game for the Aces is Friday at home against the Dallas Wings at 7 p.m. PT.
