According to new reports, the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly trademarking her lifestyle business for "hospitality services." The move marks greater heights for Meghan, who has been earnestly working to revamp her image following her controversial exit from the Royal Family.
Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, stepped down as senior royals in 2020 before relocating to the US. While the former "Suits" actress is focused on growing her status as an entrepreneur, her husband has sparked criticism for staying stuck in the past instead of moving forward.
Meghan Markle Praised For Thriving Amid Prince Harry's Royal Family Drama

Meghan's reported expansion into the hospitality sector is on brand for her, given the multiple projects she has launched centered on food, hosting, and entertainment. A good example is her "With Love, Meghan" series on Netflix, which may play a significant role in her new business move.
According to The Sun, the Duchess of Sussex is trademarking her As Ever brand for "hospitality services," which may include places to stay, the "provision of food and drink," and temporary lodgings.
The outlet notes that Meghan's unique recipes from her show may be served to future residents at her hospitality business. Brand experts applauded the hotel and restaurant move as the perfect fit in Meghan's lifestyle business, claiming it showed her desire to revamp her past image as a runaway royal.
Instead, they slammed her husband for refusing to let go of the past and move forward with his life.
Prince Harry Slammed For 'Trying To Settle Scores' Amid His Wife's Business Growth

PR and branding expert Jack Izzard from Gallia Communications addressed Meghan's hospitality move, noting it was a risky business that could blow up in her face if she wasn't careful.
"She is very much positioning herself as a star hostess, Californian royalty who makes her guests feel welcome," he began, adding:
“The issue she’s potentially going to have is that’s a completely different skill set, running a hospitality business. A night in an As Ever B&B will be several hundred pounds. That’s really going to blow up if it’s bad.”
Despite his fear for Meghan's business, Izzard applauded her for pushing forward while berating her husband for remaining stagnant.
He stressed that despite the couple's tense relationship with the Royal Family, the Duchess chose to leave it behind, saying, "Harry's still stuck in the past and trying to settle scores. She is looking ahead, forging this brand."
Meghan's Brand Teased New Products Following A Hiatus

Following the successful launch of her As Ever brand's first product, Meghan took a break before announcing more items. The Blast covered her recent update days earlier, reporting that she teased fans on Instagram about her new products.
She shared a picture of a table depicting the prep work for her next item with strawberries in multiple bowls, a bowl of blueberries, a jam jar filled with crushed strawberries, and slices of lemon. The post's caption noted fans' favorite products would return along with something new.
Meghan also promised fans that they wouldn't have to wait long before their taste buds could be satisfied, noting the launch would happen before June wrapped up.
The news coincided with the release of a new episode of her "Confessions of a Female Founder" podcast, where she addressed the reason behind her brand's hiatus.
Meghan Markle Didn't Expect Her Brand's Successful Debut

During the podcast episode, Meghan reflected on her brand's successful debut with Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles. She told The older entertainer that she never expected to sell out under 45 minutes when she launched her first product despite carefully planning for a year.
While the outcome was "amazing," it left Meghan with several questions about how to move forward. She contemplated restocking and risking selling out again quickly, which could frustrate some customers or lose the initial hype for her products.
Eventually, she realized it was best to wait and ensure stability before pushing forward. Meghan launched the lifestyle brand As Ever in 2025, offering various products, from herbal teas to cookies, jams, and honey.
She once claimed her business wouldn't stop at home decor items and kitchen essentials, hinting at a possible expansion into seasonal hospitality and other projects.
Prince Harry Was Displeased By His Failed Appeal For UK Security

One of the reasons experts saw Prince Harry as someone stuck in the past was his fight to reinstate his security in the United Kingdom. The Blast reported that his appeal on the case was rejected, leaving the former senior royal bitter about the unfavorable treatment.
In an interview after his failed appeal, Harry implied that his family might never return to the UK unless his fully funded security was reinstated. "I can't see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point," he shared, noting that his love for the country remained strong.
According to the Duke of Sussex, he missed parts of the UK and was saddened by the fact that his children wouldn't get to see these places.
He lamented the withdrawal of his security funding after his family relocated to the US, claiming the security committee switched from treating him as a "high-risk" entity to "low-risk" without properly evaluating his situation.
